President-elect Donald Trump vowed to relocate tens of thousands of federal employees on the campaign trail.
It’s a familiar playbook for the former and future president. His first administration relocated several agencies and a significant number of federal employees out of the greater Washington, D.C. metro area.
Trump, however, is envisioning a much larger realignment of the federal workforce, and seeks to move more agencies and employees beyond the Beltway than was possible during his first term.
In a March 2023 video on his campaign website, Trump said his administration plans to relocate tens of thousands of federal employees based in the Washington, D.C. area.

On the federal side he could move job reporting locations aided with relocation assistance for those who wish to move.
He could also provide low interest home loan assitance for those who move out of areas of high population density into more rural areas.
Draining the funds that go into these urban networks is the fastest way of cleaning up the corruption within. It would also help provide a counter to negative DEI pushback from minorities.
This would also help downsize the federal work force.
If they are being told, they need to leave washington DC area and move somewhere else, a certain number will decide not to relocate. They may have family ties, spouses with a job, kids in school etc, and not want to relocate for such reasons.
President Trump could also just fire everyone in DC and hire patriotic America s all over the country. Do not spread the disease in the capital, cauterize it.
Northern Alaska would be a good location for several federal departments.
Barrow, Alaska is nice this time of year.................
The Aleutians need Federal oversight too.
BTTT
Don’t send them to a Republican state or a state teetering back and forth.
The Aleutian Islands would be a great place to re-locate Federal offices. Put the grift-o-rama Department of Education out there.
“ Don’t send them to a Republican state or a state teetering back and forth.”
Exactly. Spreading cancer to healthy tissue isn’t good. Dems might like this idea .
Shrink it, don’t spread it.
Yep, send them all to Rhode Island.
i hear that the janitorial staff at gitmo could use a few thousand of DC’s best and brightest
87,000 freshly minted and heavily armed IRS agents. Border wall material.
“He could also provide low interest home loan assitance for those who move out of areas of high population density into more rural areas.”
why? rural areas likely cheaper to live then in DC.
No extra $s, none!
if they want to keep their job they deal with change, just like regular employees across the country do with new boss or owners of the company they work for.
special treatment of groups is what contributed to the craziness we have now.
The FBI HQ should move to Boston-big time blue.
Places with boarded up downtowns would work.
Clarksdale, Mississippi. Birthplace of the blues. The old downtown is abandoned. It’s a shame. Ripe for a rejuvenation. Bring the music back with it.
Moving thousands of federal employees OUT of Washington DC will have the additional benefit to American taxpayers of lowering overall salaries expense by not having to pay the cost-of-living extra paid to those residing in high-cost DC.
It would also be nice for federal employees to actually meet the unwashed peasants they resent in flyover country.
except the healthy tissue is where the ability to kill of the disease is.
People in those states need to step it up and stay involved in making sure dems etc moving in assimilate, not have existing citizens stay in their lull of complacency and let new folk take over.
The real beauty is that most of them will quit rather than transfer to Idaho. 😉
Many people will go to Idaho. Big leftist conclave there
