Seventy-seven years ago, a chartered Douglas DC-3 aircraft left Oakland with 28 Mexican nationals being sent back to México. Most were “braceros,” the slang term for Mexican laborers once imported to the United States in a long-ago farm labor program. Some on the plane that day were undocumented residents being deported once their labor was no longer needed. The passengers, two pilots, a flight attendant and an immigration guard never made it home. An engine caught fire after a fuel leak, sending the plane and its human cargo plunging into Los Gatos Canyon near Coalinga on a clear Jan. 28 morning.

There have recently been more horrific incidents along the border that go without memorials.
In June 2022, 53 migrants died in a tractor-trailer in San Antonio, Texas. The victims were found in a hot, airless trailer with no water, and the deaths were caused by heat exposure and asphyxiation. This was the deadliest human smuggling incident in the United States
.
As I recall, the smuggled illegals were abandoned by their “handlers” for whatever reason with no consideration to even unlock the truck to give them a chance to live.
I see that the comments in the article were turned off. Apparently the Sacrilegious Bee does not want to hear from their own readers’ opinions on this ludicrous article. This is a typical tactic of the leftists to shut up people when they come out with an article like this.
1948?..........Trump’s fault!................
Why is the Sacramento bee putting this article out? Now?
Trump is dehumanizing Mexicans?
We sort of think the focus should be on how illegal immigrants need to leave much because of the way these people dehumanize their American rape and murder victims
We are paying for their safe transport to their homes.
I pay 23% of my hard earned money for their safe transport home
Mexicans allow themselves to be dehumanized. They need to unite and fix that craphole they call Mexico. Make it a livable place for ALL MEXICANS so they don’t have march around the hemisphere to America looking “for a better life.” They hate the gringos but they all want to be like us. Once they sneak into America, they start turning it into another Mexico.
Does this mean that two pilots, a flight attendant and an immigration guard lost their lives due to illegal immigration?
Can’t this author find a sob story more current that this one?
and Jim Croce, Patsy Cline, Payne Stewart, Roberto Clemente and the list goes on and on

Why is the Sacramento bee putting this article out? Now? And why isn’t it in “Breaking News”?
Somebody at the Sacramento Bee has been reminiscing through their old Woody Guthrie Song Book: https://www.woodyguthrie.org/Lyrics/Deportee.htm
America is like a beautiful 20-year-old woman. The rest of the world hates her because they are like 15-year-old boys who crave her but cannot have her.
‘Why is the Sacramento bee putting this article out? Now? And why isn’t it in “Breaking News”?
Americans are smart and sometimes they look at a headline like this and think oh Trump is dehumanizing people. He doesn’t care that they’re crashing and dying.
The sac Bee takes off with that
Trump haters on FR push it
Yes, that's what the Bee is trying to push down your throat.
the bracero program I recall from the 50’s was a legal program allowing Mexicans into the US to work the farms, then return to Mexico. The farm associations contracted with Mexican labor companies. It was a good operation ruined by US labor organizers.
I remember the song...”All they will call them will be, ‘deportee’”
I was thinking of that tractor trailer filled with dead illegal aliens too.
But notice today’s Sac Bee is PUBLICIZING a deportation incident that happened 75 years ago. Gee. I wonder why.
Importing illegal aliens the last 16 years? = “Good thing.” Deporting illegal aliens 75 years ago? = Tragedy. Humanitarian crisis.
You would think the “migrants” would avoid such a horrible, racist, terrible, dehumanizing place like the U.S.; but no, they keep coming here in their millions.
