Chamath Palihapitiya

@chamath . @POTUS is right.

Snowmelt from the Sierra Nevadas and rainfall sent almost 30 million cubic acres of water into the Sacramento River Delta over the past 15 months.

Of this, only 23% was sent to productive use in farmland irrigation and homes.

A staggering 77% was sent to the ocean. The multiyear "drought" affecting most of California is man-made.

California under @GavinNewsom is full of some of the dumbest, destructive policies imaginable.

“California under @GavinNewsom is full of some of the dumbest, destructive policies imaginable.”

I don’t see anything dumb in what Newsom did...but that’s only because I understand what Democrats REALLY WANT and Newsom’s policies are PERFECT for achieving it.

Newsom protected the water monopoly his big $$$ friends have while California burned to the ground.

“Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown...”

Newsom is the likely POTUS nominee next time around. His political career should burn up with the folks he burned alive through these schemes.

Contrast this with Texas: there is only one natural lake of size in Texas, Caddo Lake. All others are man made, and new reservoirs are either under construction, or in the planning phase.

About ten years ago, I was returning to DFW from training in Atlanta. I sat next to a dude that had a very low opinion of Texas, and Texans. I was able to carry on a conversation, though, as I grew up in Northern California, and he was from Alameda.

As we were flying into DFW, he noticed the numerous reservoirs in North Texas: "wow, you guys have a lot of water." I told him these were all man made, as our state and local leaders understood the necessity of adequate water supplies.

I closed with, "I guess that means that Texans aren't as stupid as you think they are."

43,560 cubic feet make up a cubic acre. Put another way, an area 660 ft long by 60ft wide by 1 foot deep.

325,350 gallons.

it’s amazing what you can learn on Al Gore’s amazing internet.

Are these folks (friends and mega-donors to Pelosi and Newsom) the “1%” that Dems have been warning us about?

How This Billionaire Couple Stole California’s Water Supply
In a series of secret meetings in 1994, the Resnicks seized control of California’s public water supply. Now they’ve built a business empire by selling it back to working people.

https://perfectunion.us/how-this-billionaire-couple-stole-californias-water-supply/

From the article:

“And importantly, the meeting changed ownership of the Kern Water Bank. What once belonged to the state was transferred to a few private water contractors. One of which was Westside Mutual, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wonderful Foods. The Wonderful employee who runs Westside, Bill Phillimore, is the chairman of the ‘public’ organization that manages the Kern Water Bank.

Boom. One secret meeting and the Resnicks owned nearly 60% of an important California water resource, built with hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money.”

Newsom is toast. His opponents in the primaries will nail him even worse than Trump in pointing out and showing his neglect of California. The Democrat machine will turn to someone they can pass as a “centrist” and Newsom ain’t it. Dude’s done!

Of course POTUS is right. Californians watched helplessly as billions of gallons of precious water flowed into the ocean.

1 cubic acre feet of water is approximately 614.12 trillion gallons. Multiple that by 30 million.
