On this episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” a Daily Signal original, Hanson discusses the initial days of the Trump administration and the backlash from the Left. He compares the costs associated with corrective measures to those of the policies originally enacted by the Left.
“They're saying, well, Donald Trump wants to build the wall. Does he have any idea what it's going to cost? Well, a couple of things: What was the cost of letting 12 million people in here? Twelve million people. We have no idea. What was the cost of allowing 80 to 100,000 people to die every year from cartel-imported fentanyl? So, there was a cost. And that cost was much greater than building the wall.”

What was the cost of giving away billions to other nations, particularly Palestinians and Ukraine?
Other nations?
In the tens of billions.
Internally in the USA?
In the hundreds of billions, as evidenced by our deficit.
And where did all that money go?
We have some facts in our favor.
The playbook has not changed since Marx updated the ideology of tyranny from the top, down. The new collection of leftist “thinkers” show little besides the result of the damage done to our education system by these very people. The leftist agenda must now be pushed by the same people who have been indoctrinated and whose critical thinking ability has been crushed...our “experts” and our “historians”.
That leaves the rest of us for whom common sense has NOT “left the building”, the normal, actually having a job, actually raising families, actually paying taxes, actually possessing a “oh-hell-no” attitude. We seek out the Hansons, the Fittons, the Levins and the Carlsons and others who show proof that the emperor is as naked as a jaybird. I thank the internet for that. It takes the steam out of the jackasses with the megaphones.
