A Colorado Bureau of Investigation DNA scientist has been accused of jeopardizing hundreds of criminal cases after she cut corners and failed to follow testing protocols.
The investigation into her alleged misconduct began in September 2023 after an intern at the bureau discovered missing information in a sexual assault case that Woods handled in 2018.
A probe into other cases found that Woods had altered data to conceal tampering or contamination, deleted information that showed she failed to troubleshoot issues within the testing process and did not thoroughly document tests performed in case records, authorities said.
the Colorado Department of Public Safety last year asked the Legislature for $7.5 million to pay for an independent lab to retest up to 3,000 DNA samples and for district attorneys to review and potentially reprosecute cases that are affected by lab errors.

"At the time of her crimes, she worked at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Drug Abuse lab, but was placed on administrative leave and subsequently quit after admitting to falsifying evidence affecting up to 34,000 cases."
The first sign that anything was wrong with her was spotted in 2011.

Yes, those are older (i.e., younger) photos from when she was still working as a DNA analyst. She retired back in 2018 or 2019, and this is her 2025 booking photo.
Could be the same tribe as Elizabeth Warren.
She was given a 3 to 5 year sentence, and served around two years at MCI-Framingham, maybe a little more. One source says she served 28 months. She was paroled in April 2016.

She looks like a meth user in the picture. I have seen some really nice looking women before meth. After meth they looked pretty haggard. It’s a real downhill slide.
