Biden issues preemptive pardons for Milley, Fauci and Jan. 6 committee members

Washington CNN — President Joe Biden on Monday issued preemptive pardons for Gen. Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci and members of Congress who served on the committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, using extraordinary executive prerogative as a shield against revenge by his incoming successor, Donald Trump.

The pardons, coming in the final hours of Biden’s presidency, amount to a stunning flex of presidential power that is unprecedented in recent presidential history. They serve to protect several outspoken critics of the incoming president, including former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, whom Trump has vowed retribution against.

“These are exceptional circumstances, and I cannot in good conscience do nothing,” Biden wrote in a statement, issued hours before he was set to welcome Trump to the White House for tea before attending his swearing-in. “Baseless and politically motivated investigations wreak havoc on the lives, safety and financial security of targeted individuals and their families.”

If they have done nothing wrong, why is he doing this?

Milley is treasonous and should have been punished to the full extent possible under the law.

Republicans need only cal Fauci to testify before congress again and when he perjures himself again, which he will, then he won’t be pardoned for that new crime.

“Pre-emptive pardons” sounds rather Communist to me.

Nothing says “I’m innocent” like pre-emptive pardons.

He didn’t pardon them. He’s too senile. His handlers got him to sign something he doesn’t know what he was signing. Like this:

According to Associate Justice Joseph McKenna, writing the majority opinion in the U.S. Supreme Court case Burdick v. United States, a pardon is “an imputation of guilt and acceptance of a confession of it.”[14] (from Wikipedia)

A Supreme Court case from 1915. A federal pardon implies that a crime occurred and that guilt is accepted.

This is a clear, unambiguous declaration that these people ARE guilty as hell of the crimes they are infamous for.

This is the slimiest act yet from Biden's handlers, second only to attempting to assassinate Trump.

It's the reason th DNC, and especially “O’Bozo”, selected him. Joe is a complete cipher and unconscionably venal, they counted on that

Joe is a ‘blank check’ that “O’Bozo” got on leaving the WH and using Joe, he’s been writing checks like THIS the whole time Joe has been “President”

Did the Biden WH collude with the lawfare operations?

How does this ever stop if POTUS simply pardons criminal behavior? Can the next POTUS simply blanket pardon his entire staff on day one of the new administration? Can Trump pardon his entire staff today?

Ths President has been ruled not competent to stand trial. How can this blanket pardon be Constitutional?

Good, trump won't have to spend months and months waiting time and money prosecuting these low lifes. , instead he can get on to fixing the economy, strengthening our military ties with the rest of the world.

IOW trump telegraphic what he was going to do on purpose. It's to get the crap and garbage off his agenda so he can get to work on what's important.

fauci and Miller will get their just rewards. Imho.... Both will be stripped of their retirements and sued into bankruptcy.

Pardoning a traitor is offering material aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States.

Traitors hang together.

Catherine Herridge tweeted a photo of herself at Gitmo. I hop that means what I hope that means.

Question for fellow FReepers:

Can these clowns be forced to testify to Congress, and if they don’t, can they be jailed. In other words should they consider leaving the country.
