Florida authorities jailed Jennifer Box for three nights over Christmas on another woman's warrant. Now she's suing, alleging they violated her rights

Jennifer Heath Box shivered on a mat on the floor, her back pressed against another inmate's back, as they desperately tried to stay warm. The air conditioning blew a frigid breeze through the Broward County Jail in south Florida. Guards walked by wearing coats and beanies.

It was Christmas Eve. Her son, a Marine, was leaving on Dec. 27 to spend three years stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

And the police had arrested the wrong "Jennifer."

Solution - Put all law enforcement people involved in this case should be forced to endure the same punishment that they put on this woman. Incarcerate them from their families.

Police had a warrant for "Jennifer Delcarmen Heath," who was 23 years younger and nearly half a foot shorter than the "Jennifer" who had just gotten off a cruise ship.

I remember reading a similar story years ago.

Two police ‘detectives’ arrested a black woman who had the same name as a white woman, even middle name, who was wanted on a warrant for some crime.

They handcuffed her and brought her in to the station and showed her off to their captain.

He immediately ordered her uncufffed, and profusely apologized to the woman for his idiot officers mistake.................

exactly the type of incompetence DEI has wrought in every corner.

From the video, it looks possible that the arresting officers are DEI hires.

Box's attorneys at the Institute for Justice, a nonprofit civil liberties law firm, said Broward County deputies overlooked at least 10 significant discrepancies between Box and the subject of the warrant, including the vast age and height disparities, different Social Security and FBI numbers and contrasting eye, hair and skin colors. The only information that implicated Box was a copy of her DMV photo that had been attached to the warrant.

Great. Now she has an FBI number which means she’s in their database as a person of interest, target of investigation, criminal.
Something like this could pop up again against her. Passport problems, job application, maybe a traffic stop?
Hope she get a big pay day.
