U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday allowed the release of the volume of special counsel Jack Smith’s report dealing with President-elect Trump’s efforts to block the peaceful transfer of power.
In a five-page ruling, Cannon denied an effort by Trump and his two co-defendants in the Mar-a-Lago documents case to block the release of both volumes of the report, noting that prosecutors argued the election inference report has little to do with the ongoing trial against the two men.
“Based on these representations, the Court sees an insufficient basis to grant emergency injunctive relief as to Volume I,” Cannon wrote.
An earlier temporary injunction from Cannon keeps the report under wraps until Tuesday, giving Trump’s team a window to appeal her decision.
However, Cannon ordered a Jan. 17 hearing on whether to release the Mar-a-Lago report, something Attorney General Merrick Garland said he planned to keep sealed from the public given the ongoing prosecution into valet Walt Nauta and property manager Carlos de Oliveira.
The ruling is a victory for the Justice Department, who have been pushing for the release of the report recapping the Jan. 6 investigation in two different courts.

Americans don’t stand a chance in our banana republic “courts”. Hideouts for fags, commies and illegal aliens.
Well Kash should have a team go through it line by line and fire every DOJ employee who engaged in providing false information to the tribunal, which is a federal crime.
Trump did NOT try to stop “the peaceful transfer of power.” That is a flat-out lie. The Republicans had planned to use the election ratification vote as a forum to peacefully present their objections to certification before alleged election irregularities in several states could be evaluated. The rioting put a stop to that effort. Cui bono?
The deep state will never stop trying to stop Trump. I expect things to go pretty bad in the house and senate for Trump nominations. Republicans picked deep state leaders there.
oh yes, nothing will be smooth for the next 4 years.
She just lost her SCOTUS chance... LOL
Yes, clearly, something about the 2020 election doesn’t add up. Joe Biden receiving an unprecedented 81 million votes - while running a virtually invisible campaign from a “bunker” and hardly engaging with voters - raises serious questions. It’s clear something went awry in the election process, though definitive proof remains elusive.
What we do have irrefutable evidence of, however, is the infamous letter signed by 50 high-ranking officials labeling the Hunter Biden laptop story as “Russian disinformation.” This claim turned out to be completely false, as the story was legitimate. Yet it was censored across major platforms, suppressing critical information that could have changed the election’s outcome.
Had the truth been widely reported, it would have likely handed Trump a decisive victory. On this manipulation alone, it’s fair to argue the election was stolen.
Well, I did not expect this next 4 years to be anything close to a walk in the rose garden.
I pray for our Leadership every single day, sadly that takes a lot of office holders off my prayer list.
“She just lost her SCOTUS chance...”
That was my first thought also. Unfortunate. She coulda been a contender.
But nothing on the media and Dem politicians interference.
President Trumps reelection chances are looking slim now
Who cares lol
She coulda been a contender.“
Better to find out now. We are stuck with Amy who turns to be as left as O’Connor ended up and there’s nothing that can done about it
Trump didn’t block a damn thing.
The 2020 election was stolen. Governments have been overthrown for less throughout the course of history.
President Trump was standing up for his rights.
The House has no say regarding Trump nominations.
Illegal prosecutor
illegal investigation
illegal report
