After a protracted legal battle, that lasted over eight years, a court in Washington D.C. has ordered University of Pennsylvania climate scientist Michael Mann to pay National Review over half a million dollars in attorney fees and costs.
The ruling marks a significant victory for National Review, which was sued by Mann for defamation and infliction of emotional distress over two blog posts published in 2012 that criticized his work and involvement in a political dispute.
Mann's lawsuit, which the court ultimately deemed meritless, dragged on for years, forcing National Review to expend considerable resources in its defense. During the discovery process, it was revealed that Mann's intention was to use the lawsuit to "ruin National Review."

“Gitmo’ The Mann”
That or a nice slash with a hockey stick to the head.
8 years. Our legal system is a joke.

I am absolutely delighted this leftist climate nut will be forced to fork over a half a million dollars. He colluded with NASAs Hansen, and EA/CRUs Phil Jones for years to exclude peer work in publications that had contrary views.
During the trial with Mark Steyn, I believe it came out the Mann was not even paying anything for his legal costs. Therefore others are doing so and I would not be shocked if I found out that Mann will not be paying these costs myself either.
Years ago, my kid was going to Penn State and had to attend some lectures as required so went to one that was given by Mann, having no advance knowledge of the guy or his work. My kid was amazed at his lack of preparedness for the lecture. Totally spontaneous and meandering. Most people walked out.
I love that in Mann’s win against Steyn and Simberg, the jury decided that the damage to his reputation was only worth $1.
I have a couple of Mark Steyn “Liberty Sticks” that could start inflicting appropriate “penalities” on The Mann.
Mann put Steyn through Hell. My bet is his health issues are a direct result of Mann's vendetta.
No doubt. Next step is to get the $1,000,000 in punitive damages tossed.
I think I read somewhere that Phil Jones has died.

The Hockey Stick Trial: Science Dies in a DC Courtroom
Different Phil Jones. AFAIK, he’s still kicking.
The DC Courts certainly have much to atone for....
The clown just hit himself in the head with his hockey stick.
