By Wednesday morning, it looked as if a bomb had detonated on Sunset Boulevard.
As the catastrophic Palisades fire receded from one of the city’s iconic thoroughfares, smoke and ash rendered the once-picturesque landscape into something oddly lunar.
There were charred buildings, some slightly damaged, others fully destroyed. A burned-out Shell station, the pumps intact but the convenience store gone; a Bank of America in a historic building hollowed out by fire, the metal skeletons of the ATMs out front left twisted by the intense heat.

The Trump EPA needs to fine California and Los Angeles for the countless tons of carbon dioxide being emitted by these fires.

President Trump predicted this exact scenario during Joe Rogan’s podcast and he laid out the exact reasons why.

Grew up in Southern California and I am familiar with the area.
Whenever we have been in the area (a niece went to college at Pepperdine), the kinds of vegegation that people in the Palisades planted around their homes always amazed us - not drought tolerant; easily turned to fire fuel during dry periods.
Strange that, huh?
That was on TCM the other night and I watched it for the first time. William Holden looked young and I was surprised Cecil de DeMille and LB Mayer did cameos as well as Hedda Hopper. Fine old style Hollywood mansion in the movie p- probably gone now forever.
I am sorry to think that this is intentional.
Asheville being flooded out of existence, Maui burned down to dirt and same with Los Angeles.
Does anyone else think this? I believe the powers that be are destroying America so DJT will be occupied with restoring our country instead of taking care of the evil that destroys.

I was explaining that to some friends in Carmel last night.
Eucalyptus and palm trees are maybe the best tinder in the world.
The trees native to the area survive fires quite well, like the Redwoods.
They should do a remake.
