Preemptive pardons?
American Thinker ^ | December 5, 2024 | Patricia McCarthy

the criminals that populate the Biden administration know they’ve broken the law, abrogated the Constitution over and over again. They do not want to be caught, to be indicted, to have to hire lawyers, to defend themselves from the crimes they’ve knowingly committed. Everyone in their realm knows they broke countless laws in their determined effort to destroy Donald Trump. The American people know that they broke every law on the books to further their efforts to prevent Trump, not only from running for the office again and most certainly to prevent him from winning again. Damn! They failed. Now what? They collectively committed countless crimes

...

the left ... Cheating and stealing is how they roll.. they successfully stole a few seats in California with their ballot skullduggery.

...

Does this mean all the crimes they’ve committed might be exposed? Uh, well… yes... How to stop their years of corruption from becoming common knowledge? Sabotage the incoming administration by any means necessary. ... They don’t care one bit about Gaetz, Hegseth, or Patel. They know that each of them is supremely qualified for the jobs for which they are being named. The left’s plan is from an old playbook; sabotage his nominees, and ... How to go about this? Kavanaugh them! Yes, to “Kavanaugh” is now a verb

...

Hopefully, these lefty saboteurs are about to be foiled. Biden has pardoned his pathetically criminal son, a man so obviously abused in ways most of us could never imagine. Hunter was, and probably still is, as perverted and degenerate as he has always been, but he’s now been absolved of the few and minimal abuses for which he was charged while the far more serious and treasonous crimes he’s committed in his father’s name have been ignored.

Can he pardon everybody at the Department of Justice???

Garland should be investigated and charged with malicious prosecution, and directing others to engage in malicious prosecutions for political purposes. There must be a couple of junior lawyers at the Justice Department who would like to keep their law licenses. Get them to turn on Garland and viola... Garland convicted and sentenced to prison time.

It’s fine by me. But everyone who gets such a pardon must testify completely and truthfully answer every question asked by Senators and Congress.

There has been some talk that, with a pardon, these crooks would lose the ability to “plead the Fifth” and would have to testify. I don’t see how that helps. None of them will recall anything about anything. There won’t be any testimony.

They must still be discussing the fee the Biden family will be paid for these pardons

Exactly. I don’t understand why everybody thinks this is such a great idea because they’re just going to do what you said, “I can’t recall...To the best of my recollection...” or they’ll simply defy every subpoena like they always do and get away with it.

Don’t set precedents thinking that it’s going to work and thinking that it’s going to apply equally because it never does.

There is no such crime as Malicious Prosecution; rather, malicious prosecution is a civil cause of action, which rarely, by itself, leads to disbarment. Most importantly, prosecutors are generally immune from liability for malicious prosecution.

Face it America.
Democrats have so screwed up our country and dug in so deep
we cannot get them out except by various forms of frontier
justice.
Passive aggression works,
Informal Boycotts may,
one sure way is to eliminate
Democrat unions.
Democrat governments that bargain with Democrat
unions have shown this to be a disaster for the taxpayer.

Everything in the constitutions has been challenged in court so there’s no reason to suspect this cannot be. The more Biden over-reaches and abuses his power the greater the chance of it being challenged. And if one preemptive pardon gets nullified, they all will be, including Hunters.

Come on people.

Joe Biden is a US President. He is not a Catholic Pope selling indulgences.

According to Black’s Law Dictionary a pardon is only good for a conviction. Preemptive pardons are what royals used to grant to family and cronies.

Presumptive pardons is the modern equivalent to the indulgences sold by the Catholic Church during the Dark and Middle Ages.

Preemptive pardons (PP) are dangerous to our republic.

This becomes precedent for all future administrations as it surely will, nearly guarantee a “get out of jail free card” for friends, relatives, cronies, party officials, & many more. Political elites become virtually untouchable by the law.

If one President PPs 10 of his coconspirators, the next President might PP 25, or 100, or his entire administration, along with everyone on his personal contact list. Why not, he/she has the power.

Do you think PP will encourage or discourage corruption?

IMO, the Presidential power of pardon, parole, & clemency should be very restricted, & require Congressional approval, while PP should be banned entirely.

All of this plan depends on the pardons being able to pass the smell test at the USSC, who at the very least, can see how rapidly their authority is slipping away.

What was once old is now new again.

The Counter Revolution of socialism/communism is nothing more than the return to the pre-1775 ancient regimes of hereditary despots. Just look at Cuba, North Korea and others with life long dictators.
