Ancient Map Sets Middle East Ablaze: Jordan Accuses Israel of 'Criminal[sic]' Territory Grab What started as an Israeli Foreign Ministry social media post about ancient Jewish kingdoms has erupted into a major diplomatic crisis, with Jordan and the Palestinian Authority accusing Israel of revealing "malicious[sic] territorial ambitions" by sharing a map of biblical borders that extend into modern Arab states.

A social media post by Israel's Foreign Ministry featuring an ancient biblical map has ignited fierce criticism from Arab nations, with Jordan's government condemning it as a "provocative" act that threatens regional sovereignty.

The controversy erupted after the Ministry's Arabic-language account shared a map showing the historical boundaries of the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judea, accompanied by a post asking
"Did you know that the Kingdom of Israel was established 3000 years ago?" The content traced the biblical accounts of kings Saul, David, and Solomon, through to the kingdom's division and eventual exile under Assyrian and Babylonian rule, concluding with modern Israel's 1948 establishment as "the only democracy in the Middle East."

It’s God they’re really in enmity with, not Israel.

Notice that the modern (early and mid20th century) “TransJordan” boundaries closely follow those east of the Jordan River 3000 years ago?

Israel in Arabic @IsraelArabic

Did you know that the Kingdom of Israel existed for 3,000 years?

The first king to rule for 40 years was King Saul (1050-1010) BC. He was followed by King David, who ruled for approximately 40 years (1010-970) BC. He was followed by King Solomon, who also ruled for 40 years in the period (970-931) BC.

The rule of the three kings lasted 120 years, an important period of time in the history of Israel. These years witnessed development in Jewish life in various fields, including culture, religion, and the economy.

After the death of King Solomon, the kingdom was divided in 931 BC into two parts: the Kingdom of Israel in the north and the Kingdom of Judah in the south, following internal conflicts due to heavy tax burdens and the centralized policies he imposed on the tribes.

King Jeroboam ben Nevat [son of Nebat] ascended to the throne of the Kingdom of Israel in the north (pictured in yellow). Then he established two centers of worship in Dan and Beit El [Bet-El] to establish a separate identity from the kingdom of Rehoboam, son of Solomon, in the south, who preferred to raise taxes on the people, at a time when they were suffering from them.

The rule of the Kingdom of Israel in the north continued for about 209 years until its fall at the hands of the Assyrians in 722 BC.

As for the southern Kingdom of Judah (in green), it continued for about 345 years until its fall at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, Emperor of Babylon in 568 BC.

This division led to political conflicts throughout the history of the people of Israel, and its effects continued for hundreds of years..

However, the Jewish people in the diaspora continued to aspire to the renaissance of their strength and capabilities and to rebuild their state, which was declared in the State of Israel in 1948 to become the only democracy in the Middle East.

A democracy is a political system in which the people periodically, by majority vote at the polls, select their rulers. The rulers then have absolute power to make whatever laws they please, by majority vote among themselves.

In a constitutional Republic, the people also, by majority vote at the polls, select rulers, who make laws by majority vote among themselves; but the rulers cannot make any laws they please because the Constitution severely restricts their lawmaking power.

The ideal of a democracy is universal equality. The ideal of a constitutional Republic is individual liberty.

In this century, great strides have been made toward the goal of subverting our Republic and transforming it into a democracy. One tactic of the subverters is subversion of language. By calling the United States a democracy until people thoughtlessly accept and use the term, totalitarians have obscured the real meaning of our principles of government.

Dan Smoot Report, 1966
With all due respect to Israel and the Israelis, they really should drop the descriptor of “democracy” and proudly refer to themselves as the only free republic in the Middle East.

this is nothing new.

anyone who has ever looked at a map of the 12 tribes knows that many of them were located to the East of the Jordan River.

Why it sucks to be 7th century intellectual Pygmies in a 21st century world:

There are about 7 million Jews in Israel.

There are about 1.9 billion muslims in the world.

That’s about 270 muslims for every Israeli Jew.

And everyone of them hates the Jews.

Yet the Israeli Jews out-smart, out-create, out-produce and out-fight the muslim hordes year in and year out.

With all due respect to Israel and the Israelis, they really should drop the descriptor of “democracy” and proudly refer to themselves as the only free republic in the Middle East.

The drawback to that perfectly intelligent suggestion is that the simplistic idiots in the world (even in the USA) have some idea what the word "democracy" as a descriptor means
but are stymied and head-scratchingly puzzled when told a country is a republic.

We don’t want Lebanon (or the craphole Gaza) but we are keeping the Golan Heights. In fact the local druze much prefer to become Israeli citizens.

Partly because the "muslim hordes" keep marrying their cousins generation after generation.

Arabs should return to Arabia from which they launched their settler colonialist genocidal wars against the Levant’s indigenous Jews (Israel) and Christians (Lebanon, Egypt, etc.)
