Elon Musk has voiced his support for the H-1B visa program, asserting its necessity in addressing the shortage of skilled engineers in Silicon Valley. However, his stance has drawn criticism from Senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders, who recently expressed support for a government efficiency initiative, disagrees with Musk's assessment of the H-1B visa program.
“Elon Musk is wrong,” Sanders said in a post on X
“The main function of the H-1B visa program is not to hire “the best and the brightest,” but rather to replace good-paying American jobs with low-wage indentured servants from abroad,” he said, adding that the “cheaper the labor they hire, the more money the billionaires make.”

Sanders is on the right side of the H-1B debate? Don’t worry. If it becomes a problem, the DNC will just buy him another house and he’ll shut up.

This is an area where it is best to refrain from knee-jerkism. Another way to put it: weigh the good and bad and refine it, but don’t leave it up to Federal “expertise.”

H1B’a are for all the foreigners that work for health insurance companies, so they can make more money.
Bernie started off as an immigration skeptic. He changed his position when he ran for president. I guess he realizes that’s never going to happen, so he switched back,
Why should large powerful IT companies be allowed to skirt US employment laws? Especially WIPRO, Cognizant, HLC et al that are Indian companies?

No, it’s the “Stopped Clock” paradox. The H1B program took a reasonable idea and then the gov’t expanded it and allowed the industries to misuse it and turn it into an artificial wage depression tool.
Bernie is right on that, Elon only sees the dollar signs, not the overall impact.
Bernie voted to extend these visas. Bernie is a sellout and cannot be trusted. Not like I ever trusted him, LOL!
I’d probably agree with Musk on this. Skilled foreign workers here on work visas are not a problem. And if those jobs he is talking about are currently unfilled, those workers are not replacing anybody.
