Bird Flu Outbreak Pushes Egg Prices to Record-Breaking Heights
Breitbart ^ | 01/03/2025 | Amy Furr

People across America are feeling the sting of the rising cost of eggs in part being driven by the bird flu outbreak.

In October, Vice President-elect Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) pointed to the skyrocketing price of eggs as evidence of President Joe Biden (D) and Vice President Kamala Harris’s (D) economic policies, per Breitbart News.

“Eggs, when Kamala Harris took office, were short of $1.50 a dozen. Now, a dozen eggs will cost you around $4, thanks to Kamala Harris’ inflationary policies,” he said.

Bird Flu caused by an apparent “leak” from a USDA facility.

$3.99 for eggs? That’s WAY cheap if in California. As is anything below $4.50/gal for gas!

The title is extremely deceiving.

It’s not because of the bird flu.

It’s because of biden/harris, which they write in the article, but that wouldn’t get one to click as it’s known already

I don’t know what’s up with coffee prices (other than FJB’s inflation), but I just saw a typical 23oz tub of Maxwell House for $19 at the grocery store! That is INSANE!

What eggs? The store shelves have been largely empty. At least the brand I like.

We get fresh eggs from a nearby family farmer. A couple of months ago, we decided to pay them more than they were asking, because they are a young family and wewant to see them succeed. So now I’m paying them $5-6/dozen. These are true free range chickens that aren’t garbage. These are the best eggs I’ve ever had barring the ones Grandma had from her hens. I’m happy to pay extra to have these.

Eggs are $3.96 a dozen at Aldo with a quantity limit.

I saw a woman with a shopping cart with dozens of eggs at Walmart probably buying for a restaurant.

Bird flu is being used as a vegan tool to destroy the poultry industry.

It is not the bird flu that causes egg prices to go up, it is the frequent requirement that all the birds be immediately killed if one of them comes down with it. Once again it is the heavy-handed government nonsense. Did Fauci find new employment in a different government agency?

“free range” birds are more likely to get bird flu from wild birds.

“As incomes rise around the world, more people are drinking coffee.”

“a leaf rust epidemic that began around 2008 wiped out large areas of arabica production across Central America—including up to 40% of Colombia’s coffee crop. Colombian growers have had to replant 3 billion trees since 2008. In central American coffee countries and Columbia, coffee leaf rust (CLR) epidemics also caused serious crop losses in 2012-14. Breakdown of resistance to CLR has been reported in several countries, such as Brazil, Colombia, India, Thailand, and China.”

Local eggs in the northeast are $6-10, depending on the farm. Hubby paid $4.50 for LOL ay grocer (we ran out of our local eggs).
Joel Salatin has it right, stop destroying flocks of birds, let the birds get sick and die, let the ones that recovered reproduce with immunity and good genetics. Seems pretty straight forward and obvious, unless you are the government tat is.

Any mass poultry illness (virus or bacterial) requires quarantine or killing of flocks. It happened in the 70s with a virus called Newcastle.
