Shell-shocked Democrats are considering dropping labels like 'progressive' or even ditching the party altogether after they got shellacked by Donald Trump in November.
After a left-leaning campaign by Vice President Kamala Harris delivered lackluster results, some Dems believe they should drop polarizing positions and run as independents as the party veers away from working class values.
'The Democratic brand is in the toilet,' Lis Smith, former senior advisor to Pete Buttigieg's 2020 campaign, told the New York Times.
'Many of the Democrats who succeeded this cycle - our best over-performers in House races, for instance - are people who ran against the Democratic Party brand,' she continued.
'Trump tore down the blue wall in the industrial Midwest, but he also expanded his vote the most in our bluest and most urban areas.'
The marquee names of the past are either too old - Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders - or term limited like Barack Obama.
Several candidates are vying to lead the party as DNC chair, but others like John Fetterman believe the left is out of step with the country and refuse to align with the wing.
'I was a progressive, but the situation's changed and I've been very clear that I didn't leave that label. That label [left] me,' the Pennsylvania Democrat said in June.

I’ve often thought that the Republican party should just fold up its tent in Blue states & instead run people as ‘sane Democrats.’ Moving to “Independent” with the same nonsense policies won’t help much. They still don’t get it.
Desperate dastardly dim-bulb Dems will do anything to stay in power. They keep their lefty ideology and rebrand themselves to fool voters.
Or tilt to the common sense center a bit more. Such as dropping their trans-sex propaganda. Their open borders propaganda, where they will never cooperate with Thomas Homan’s efforts to deport criminals.
If you label feces foise gras it’s still feces.
No mention of the DNC’s Hamas wing. Strange.
Whatever it is it won’t work please get your head out of your ash. The world of your making is over and we are free.
Make them vote on Trans issues (federal and state and local level)—over and over and over again....

When you have to lie about who you are, what does that make you? A liar.
The dem civil war has started in typical fashion with a large group running away.
Hey, the strategy works like a charm for RINOs. Run as a conservative then vote with the Democrats. Six months before the next election talk like a tough Republican on all the talk shows and get reelected. Rinse and repeat.
Dan Crenshaw. Lindsey Graham. etc., etc.

You try to get along, live and let live, and then letter people show up.
They don’t want to get along, they demand to be celebrated.
A democrat by any other name would still smell as foul.
Sounds like the normal majority of “Independent” who already votes Democrat MOST of the time. Now that they have en mass tarinshed the DNC brand, live the scum of the Earth the DNC wants to morph into Independents.
Not that Independents as a whole have enough pride or the personal fortitude to hold any position being challenged in public long, they will succumb to the Scum.
The DNC knows that their party may face RICO type dismanteling very quietly under a second Trump Administration.

The DNC has made a mockery of the Presidency running the WH under Sullivan and Blinken (Campaign Managers at best), and the fruits of their term of office has destroyed the governments of their fEllow tRavelers in:

Germany
S.Korea
The Philippines
Canada
England

*Independent - a person who holds no public position for lack of spine
*sTinking sHip (Sinking Ship or DNC unravelling)

*tRavelers (akin to un-ravelers who destroy all they touch)
The Chicago Wing of the DNC (from Clintons, Obamas, Biden) have wrecked the post WWII institutions by misuse. From NATO in Yugoslavia to present day; evey Corporate Boardroom and everything associated with the UN, have been turned inside out for personal mis-use.
Of course the DNC doesn’t want to be the very people whose linage of Slavery in the South to Racial Preferences are the least of their crimes.
The Republicans ought to be the party of TRUTH and honesty as a top value with severe penalties for any politician violating that standard.
Oh, then they are going to lie to people? I believe that is not anything new.
Shame they can’t win by having policies that make American’s want to put them in power.
The democrat party has ALWAYS been an anti-American party of traitors and haters.
Don’t believe me?
Study their history and their policies since the Civil War.
Lincoln should have outlawed that party after we kicked their *ss in the war.
Remember when they did the same thing to the term “Liberal”? They made it so toxic they rebranded to “progressive”, and now we see the truth of the old saying, “History repeats itself”.
