A yellow taxi van jumped the curb and slammed into six pedestrians walking near Macy’s on W. 34th St. and Sixth Ave. on Wednesday afternoon, NYPD officials said.
Six people were struck by the taxi being operated by a 58-year-old man traveling north on Sixth Ave. near W. 34th St., where he barreled onto the busy sidewalk across the street from Macy’s flagship store at 4:03 p.m. Cops said he lost control of the cab due to an undisclosed medical emergency.
Among the victims was a 9-year-old boy who was brought to Weill Cornell Medical Center with a laceration to his leg. Also struck were two women, both 49, and three other females ages 19, 37, and 41, according to police.

If you didn’t go to NYC decades ago, there is no reason to go.
If you yell - “Allahu Akbar!” and no one hears it… does it count?
Cabbies are all pakis. I guess we need to import pakis for the high tech job of driving taxis into pedestrians.
Does the 58-year-old man have a name?
The only think certain, at this point, is that the taxi driver is an Immigrant. If it was an Allah Akbar attack, I suspect he would have targeted a large crowd, European style.

Not true …. A couple of months ago we had an Israeli taxi driver in NYC who calmly shot across three blocks near Times Square in the opposing lanes to get us to an appointment on time. The man was fearless.

This could have just been an unfortunate accident. Or it could have been a case of Sudden Jihadist Syndrome.
If it really was the latter, we will certainly be told it’s the former.

Correct. Just as we were told immediately after the muslim attack on German civilians that the perpetrator was definitely NOT motivated by islamic imperatives to deceive and slay all non-muslims. Nope. Wasn’t THAT. In FACT, he was an anti-islamic sort of guy who just got a little angry. And then we all just went home and got on with our lives, such as they are, as our civilization is slaughtered on the alter of political correctness.
My wife and I took a train in a few years ago, then grabbed a cab outside of Grand Central.
When we got into the cab, the guy cut swiftly across all those lanes of traffic (while we were wide-eyed and hanging on in the back!) and we had a police car behind us immediately, commanding the cab driver to pull over via loudspeaker.
He got the ticket, and off we went.
Next day, we took a cab over to the USS Intrepid museum and the cab driver had no idea how to get there. At one point, he simply stopped in the middle of a busy intersection down near the water, right in the middle, against the light, while cars zipped around us perpendicularly! We sat in the back, mouths agape, wincing at every car that went by as if this were perfectly normal! I don’t recall a single horn!
Again, we heard the metallic voice of a police cruiser commanding the driver to pull over.
Two cab rides. Two days. Two tickets.
The FUBI is searching for a motive from mostly peaceful cabbie.
The taxi did it! Ban taxis!
Not a word about the driver. That tells me that the driver is a member of the middle eastern death cult.
Why do I say that? Because you can bet your favorite prayer rug that the media would be shouting it all over if the driver had a MAGA hat on. That’s why.
They drive like maniacs.
Doesn’t take a terrorist for a NYC cab to do this.
Unfortunately, it takes the average cab driver.
I wont drive into the city anymore...I’m not very old but at 56 my nerves aren’t up to it anymore.
Witnesses are usually a pretty reliable indicator of whether it was an accident or not
Acceleration is usually a sign right before the crash.
Too many cabs, competition from uber and others has made them drive even crazier
