“After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I have decided to remove my name from consideration for the United States Senate,” Lara Trump wrote in a post on X.

“I do have a big announcement that I’m excited to share in January, so, stay tuned,” Lara Trump added in her post.

I guess the (rumoured) talk of desantis appointing Lara to Rubio's Senate seat in return for nomination to the Sec. of Defense position wasn't something he could make a deal on.

It's easy to guess (I guess)...

DeSantis can't run for governor again, and his term is up in 2 years. So, you all can guess, like me, what she's got up her sleeves. ;)

Good news, the one bad thing about Trump so far is he is taking too many people from positions we need them to stay in.

We need Lara to help us keep the House in 2026

That should continue to be her #1 Priority

Generally the out of party wins big but the Democrats are very demoralized right now, there’s really nothing left to fire them up with, and if lots of the media goes under in the coming months there will be nobody to fire them up.

And thanks to Lara Republicans have learned to play the early / mail in vote game.

So if we can just crack down on voter fraud, we should be able to not only hold the house but makes gains.

Lara has already stepped down from her RNC co-chair position.

I haven't heard what's going to happen with the rnc...

What I have heard (from Charlie Kirk talking about it on his show), is that Charlie Kirk says his team is still working on improving the get out the vote effort for the midterms....

And he's going to be working towards primarying anti-America First/MAGA rinos and swamp creatures...

I like her being used as a threat to Tillis. He is weak rino and with Lara ready to take him out he will have toe the line or she will crush him like a bug.

California is a state that needs immediate attention in order to stop elections from continuing to be stolen, and it'll be an uphill climb to be sure.

That is really good to hear! We need to take the congressional races as seriously as the presidency and stop letting idiots who manage to win a primary to become the candidates. I think Elon would help support a “farm team” effort that would identify and nurture smart solid young conservatives who could run and win congressional elections. Imagine a House and Senate MAGA caucus filled with new JD Vances and MTGs.

You need Lara, or somebody, to TAKE the House in 2026.

The GOP needs 230-240 seats to even have a CHANCE at a functional majority. The Democrats do not have this problem, for whatever reason. With 218 seats, the Democrats can legislate whatever they desire.

But the Democrats can block any Republican important issues with 205-210 seats, because when the chips are down, they can count on 20+ GOP defectors.

“”I do have a big announcement that I’m excited to share in January, so, stay tuned,””

Does this have anything to do with switching to GEICO and the cost of her auto insurance???

“Establish residency here in your native North Carolina and unseat Thom Tillis PLEASE Lara.”

No more carpetbaggers in NC. The GOP already gave us mediocre Senator Elizabeth Dole, Bob Dole’s wife, who was born in NC but hadn’t lived in the state since about 1960. She changed her residency from her home with Bob at the Watergate in DC , to her mother’s home in Salisbury NC in 2002, to run for the seat of retiring Senator Jessie Helms.

She won election to the Senate in 2002, but lost her reelection campaign in 2008, to Democrats Kay Hagan, by a 44% to 53% margin. During her one term in office she spent little time in the state and prioritized national GOP issues over issues of concern to the people of NC.

The Constitution was written with the intent US Senators will represent the states in the legislative branch. Lara Trump, like Elizabeth Dole, left NC decades ago and has little connection with the state. She considered registering in NC to run for the seat of retiring Senator Richard Burr in 2022 but ultimately opted out and the Senate seat was won by a NC native and businessman Ted Budd who is a conservative Republican. Likely private polling at the time showed Lara could not win a race in which the press and opposing candidate would make her sham residency the key issue in the campaign. Many voters, who actually understand the Constitution and representative government, resent candidates of convenience who have no real ties to the state and its people.

If as expected popular two term outgoing Democrat Governor Roy Cooper runs against Tillis or Lara Trump in the 2026 U.S. Senate race in NC, he will defeat either soundly. Statewide vote totals in 2016 and 2020 showed Cooper getting more votes for governor than Donald Trump received for president in NC. Arguably, based on the vote count, Roy Cooper is more popular, with voters, than Donald Trump in the state.

It will take a NC native with an impeccable reputation, long term residency, tremendous financial backing, great public speaking skills, and a flawless campaign to beat Cooper. Plus, whoever is going to have a chance to win needs to start campaigning soon to get name recognition across the state and develop a bond with the electorate.

As of today, the 2026 Senate race in NC is Roy Cooper’s to lose. Roy was smart enough to take himself out of consideration to be Kamala Harris’s VP running mate this year. More evidence he is looking forward to a 2026 Senate campaign where the odds are highly in his favor.

I disagree with you about Roy Cooper’s supposed popularity. Remember that the voters also voted for a Republican supermajority in the state legislature to stuff various bills down Cooper’s throat.

I changed my mind about Lara. She and the RNC did a great job on the ground game last election.
