Thousands of Amazon workers organized under the Teamsters union went on strike at 6 a.m. Thursday after the company's "repeated refusal to follow the law and bargain."
Amazon Teamsters at seven facilities in Skokie, Illinois; New York City; Atlanta; San Francisco; and Southern California are participating in the "largest strike" against the trillion-dollar company in American history, the union said in a news release. Workers at other facilities are prepared to join them.
Though Teamsters says it represents about 10,000 people across 10 Amazon facilities in the U.S., the company doesn't recognize workers' affiliation with the union.
Amazon says the Teamsters union is "intentionally [misleading] the public" because they don't represent Amazon employees and drivers, company spokesperson Kelly Nantel said in a statement to Fox Business.

“Historic” if you were one of the idiots carrying a sign. Everyone else would have forgotten about this in a week or two.
Teachers’ Unions should be abolished and recognized as dangerous to children and property owners.
Send me my stuff first!!!
The union got a majority of the workers to sign cards. Biden’s NLRB expects Amazon to enter into collective bargaining.
It would be like asking people to sign cards for Kamala.
This sort of thing allows for intimidation.
Even voting by mail, which Democrats love, would be better.
Reportedly in Reno NV as well. Amazon statement indicates these are not teamsters here so is a walk out a quit?
Extortion.
If you don’t like your job, get another job.
yep, public unions should be outlawed
Amen!
“Teachers’ Unions should be abolished and recognized as dangerous to children and property owners.”
I blame the colleges of education, mainly.
The teacher unions in Chicago and LA probably need to go away.
Amazon is already heavily into robotics in their warehouses/distribution sites and has been experimenting with drone delivery in a few markets.
This is the future for large-scale marketing/sales/packaging/deliveries.
I give it a year and AMAZON will be announcing partnerships with some of the companies building humanoid warehouse workers and delivery drone services. At this point they will begin laying off employees left and left (not much is “right” about Amazon and its management/politics) and tell the unions “That’s right buddy, We gotcher ‘living wage’ right here” - tug-tug - “so pi$$ off.”
Companies should be allowed to prefer replacement employees who are happy with their jobs and their pay over previous employees who are unhappy with their job and/or their pay.
Amazon centers are my customers and they are indeed using robots for a lot of the work and have spares so they are never down.
I looked at a couple videos and they seem more like actors than employees...
Hired strikers? Nice. Who’s their union? SAG?
Hired strikers? Nice. Who’s their union? SAG?
Yep
In fact, if I had time, I’ll bet I could scour Craig’s list and other sites to find descriptions of the actors and theme...
You likely could. 🤔😊👍
