Standard democrat procedure. When JFK was killed with a bolt action army surplus rife the democrats immediately called for a ban on army surplus rifle sales and registration of ALL firearms.
When Bobby Kennedy was killed with an American Made cheap handgun they demanded a ban on the import of Foreign “Saturday Night Specials” and army surplus rifles. They got the ban.
Then came back later demanding a ban on American made handguns.
The promise was Rifles and shotguns will not be affected! Till in 1984 they saw them as a target of opportunity and made a grab for them.
