Runways at a Hudson Valley airport were brought to a halt after drone activity disrupted operations for approximately an hour, prompting New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to escalate calls for immediate federal intervention.
Hochul said the incident happened in Orange County on Friday, Dec. 13, at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor.
“This has gone too far,” Hochul stated, addressing growing concerns over unauthorized drones in sensitive airspace. The incident marks the latest in a series of drone sightings that have raised alarms across the state, pushing Hochul to take decisive action.
In mid-November, Hochul directed the New York State Intelligence Center to actively investigate drone sightings and work closely with federal law enforcement.
While those efforts continue, the governor has now called on Congress to pass the Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act.
The proposed legislation would bolster the Federal Aviation Administration’s ability to oversee drones and extend counter-drone measures to state and local law enforcement agencies.
“Extending these powers to New York State and our peers is essential,” Hochul emphasized.
Until Congress acts, the governor is urging the Biden Administration to deploy additional federal law enforcement to New York and neighboring regions to safeguard critical infrastructure and ensure public safety.
The rising frequency of drone incidents, particularly near key transportation hubs, has underscored the need for a robust response.
Hochul’s statement signals a growing sense of urgency to address the risks posed by unregulated drone activity before it leads to a more serious crisis.

Just watched a video of a drone defense contractor who gave his opinion of the nature of the drone activity. He believes the drones are engaged in some type of “sniffing” activity. His first belief is that the drones are sniffing for radioactive signatures, i.e., radiation. The other possibility he suggests is that they are sniffing for natural gas, although again, he implies radiation detection is the stronger likelihood.
He did note that the drones could also be looking for someone using infrared, although less likely.
He said there is almost no reason whatsoever to fly drones at night unless the mission was either a sniffing operation or a search for someone. He noted that drones are not very good at actually seeing much at night as infrared is not a very precise tool in urban areas (I’m paraphrasing).

While it might be ChiCom or Iranian drones, or even top secret US weapons, what if it isn’t?
So much evil these days, especially against Christians and Jews, and such a large falling away of ‘Christians’; could these (and the UAPs, formerly known as UFOs) be demons appearing as ‘aliens’? Perhaps ‘softening up’ Americans to ‘normalize’ such sitings and then, eventually, revealing themselves as ‘aliens’?
People have a need for something spiritual, something greater than themselves. As so many have turned from God, they need something to believe in. satan, if he revealed himself as ‘satan’, the vast majority of atheists/agnostics would be repelled by him, and perhaps run to Jesus. If he eventually reveals himself as ‘an alien’, many of these atheists/agnostics, in addition to plenty of ‘weak’ believers, would flock to the alien, satan!
We see all kinds of ‘birth pangs’ these days, one never knows. Keep you eyes on He who was, is, and forever will be! Eyes on Calvary!
