On Friday’s broadcast of “NBC Nightly News,” NBC News Chief Washington Correspondent and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent and MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell said that there is increased optimism for a ceasefire and hostage release deal in Gaza “because Hamas has agreed to big concessions.” And that while the largest reason is the weakening of Iran and Hezbollah by Israel and the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, “A senior Biden official says a big factor was President-Elect Trump’s warning that Hamas will have hell to pay if they don’t release hostages before he takes office.”

I can’t stand it if by Inauguration Day, Biden will be hailed as ending the Mideast war, getting the hostages to be hugged by himself and Jill*, killing off inflation, giving Trump a wonderful economic rise for him to benefit and letting the lion lie down with the lamb all over the world.
That is already going to be the MSNBC version. Maybe 79 Nobel Prize Winners will write a letter saying it, too.

Half of this regime is mad at Biden for mishandling this situation and blame him for this dragging on over a year now. Even though they hate Trump and Israel, they know this war doesn’t end until the hostages (or what’s left of them) are turned over.
No one will be fooled by Biden trying to take credit for the war suddenly ending on his way out the door, especially with Trump’s ultimatum on the table.
