The NYPD and FBI offered a joint $60,000 reward during the manhunt for UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s killer — but it wasn’t immediately clear who, if anyone, would get the cash now that an arrest has been made.
Luigi Mangione, 26, was captured in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Monday after a McDonald’s employee spotted him eating at the fast food restaurant and called 911.
According to FBI rules, a tipster can’t nominate themselves to collect the reward....

I’d ponder that perhaps the real “tipster” is an FIB employee.
Wouldn’t be fair for the FIB to award their own employee with the reward (not that any sense of morality would prevent that).
Yup, sounds like the FBI we know and…
ah…
well…
…let’s leave it at that.
Note to self:
Take down the perp, call 911 to report the body, collect reward.
neglected to call the Patsy Hotline
News stories stated that a customer spotted him first and pointed him out to the employee.
“ According to FBI rules…”
…we don’t need to hear jack sh— about the FIB’s BS rules
A tip provider has to be “nominated”? I’ve never heard of anything like that before.
Why would the McDonald’s employee get the reward anyway? It was a customer who identified the suspect, and then asked an employee to call it in. Maybe the employee could get small percentage of it, but not a lot. It’s the customer who was responsible for capturing the guy and should get the reward, or at least the bulk of it.
And speaking of Mangione, has anyone noticed that the media are already losing interest in talking about him because they know he’s a far left-wing loon?
Agreed.
That’s ridiculous...

And exactly where is that disclaimer listed on the Seeking Information form?
Because the NSA found him but can’t say that because it would violate his rights to search and seizure and could endanger the trial.
8t is clickbait. A dude dan’t award himself the award.
Well…doesn’t Zelensky have to approve it? He won’t do that his wife needs at least that for her Paris Christmas trip.
Because MK-Ultra already knew who it was.
Booo! FBI sucks!
But, I guess free food at McDonald’s for the rest of his life would be more of a punishment than a perk! ;)
Note to self: next time you spot a wanted man with a bounty on his head, just walk away and save yourself. If you intervene you probably will never get the bounty and you’ll probably be charged and jailed for something unless it’s a white guy.
