The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted dozens of airstrikes on known ISIS camps and operatives in central Syria on Sunday to prevent the terrorist organization from taking advantage of the demise of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad’s regime.

After Assad’s family ruled over Syria for more than 50 years, Assad was forced to flee Syria to Russia, where he was granted asylum, when a coalition of largely radical Islamist groups led a sweeping offensive across Syria and captured the country’s capital city.

Syria is a mess, but is not our friend, & THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS NOT OUR FIGHT. LET IT PLAY OUT. DO NOT GET INVOLVED!

What are we doing here? I believe the CIA and State Dept. had a hand in Assad’s downfall - now we’re going after the ISIS groups that helped depose him? What is the endgame here, and why are we even involved? Stay out of it.

Yes

Amir Tsarfati
The Israeli Air Force: today was a day with the heaviest attacks in Syria, probably since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
Dozens of aircraft attacked nearly 100 targets of the Syrian army almost non-stop.

How is this possible without a declaration of war??

I hate ISIS as much as the next red-blooded American but this is not our fight.

That's gonna create some confused narrative spin in conservative circles.

Biden, CIA, and Deep State all involved. Must be a bad thing.

But Netanyahu and Israel also involved. Must be a good thing.

Wait, so is toppling Assad good or bad?

In a way it is like the Tet Offensive. VC stayed hidden for years and in one day they all came out in the open. Probably a similar scenario here. They come out in the open and we have to tools to fix that.

41 days of interesting events as various parties get in their shots before serious leadership returns to the big house numbered 1600. I always said that the lame duck phase of Biden would be the most interesting, and potentially the most dangerous time.

The old Roman Empire had to be involved in everything, everywhere. Just because.

The old British Empire had to be involved in everything, everywhere. Just because.

And now it’s the American Empire’s turn. No matter that empires fall when they become arrogant and overextended. Forget that lesson. This time it will be different. Not.

The Israelis can do what they please in their own interest - I just don't see how our interests are served by getting involved with toppling Assad. Especially when his replacement is ISIS and Al Qaeda.

They werent hidden. The rebels were holding positions north of Aleppo the whole time. The whole advance was opportunistic, when they saw the Assad forces withdrawing.
