Islamist rebels in Syria catch Assad, Putin, Iran regimes off guard giving US new mideast headache

Extremist Syrian Islamist forces have seized control over much of Aleppo, the second-largest city in the war-torn country, raising significant new questions for the U.S. government about its policy in the highly volatile Syrian Arab Republic.

"I think it is concerning if some elements of the anti-Assad forces get their hands on sensitive sites in Syria. There have been reports that they have seized the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center, which is where Assad’s chemical weapons program is housed among other military assets," Jason Brodsky, policy director for United Against Nuclear Iran, told Fox News Digital.

He continued, "Given the background of some of these groups which were formerly affiliated with Al-Qaeda, it raises serious questions and could have implications for Israeli national security."

Brodsky warned that Hayʼat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), an amalgam of radical Islamist groups that secured the victory in Aleppo, is also a highly dangerous organization for the U.S.

"We can’t forget that one of these groups, HTS has been designated by the U.S. as a foreign terrorist organization.

“Islamist rebels” who are actually proxies of US, UK, Turkey and Israel.

Smyth said that “HTS is a group that is an outgrowth of Al-Qaeda and has connections to Turkey. Their endgame is to create a Talibanesque society with a few tweaks.”

He said, “I doubt the U.S. will be in a position to say we’re hunky-dory with this. They attacked us on 9/11, “in reference to the Al-Qaeda origin of HTS.

Everything anywhere in the world is always a headache for us thanks to the globalist neocon trash. I hope Trump gets us to a point when we read about events in foreign lands, we can shrug our shoulders and say “I hope they are ok”.

And right after the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire, too.

" 'Islamist rebels' who are actually proxies of US, UK, Turkey and Israel." Exactly. They even used the Israelis' exploding pagers trick on the Syrian Army.

Erdogan has said that he wants to reconstitute the Islamic Caliphate of the Levant, which existed for 400 years and also ruled Israel before they were defeated by General Allenby of the British Expeditionary Forces..

Christmas has been celebrated in Aleppo, with Christmas trees and all, during the last 7 years after Assad regained Aleppo

I am sure these “moderate Islamists” will put a stop to that this year.

"headache"? ... This is mother's milk to that great majority of political leaders who feast on the misery, suffering and death of others.

Headache for us? We have spent a decade flying top cover for them and bombing any Syrian army going after them. We created them. This is the updated Al Nusra/ISIS.

Shameful that we have taken Syria straight into a Sunni Salafist theocracy. Under Assad you could drink Syrian wine, go to the one synagogue left in Damascus, be a Christian, etc. Women could marry, divorce, drive, get a job and education, and dance to music in a swimsuit on Latakia beach.
It was there only Middle East national like that.
We unleashed Isis to overthrow that.

And the Neocons, their CIA co-conspirators and many ZEEPERS will revel in orgasmic delight at that development.

The fallout/collateral damage, if you will, of what Israel has done to Hezbollah, which has been devastating. Hezbollah has hitherto provided much of Syrian military manpower.

Anybody who objects to this development should have been objecting to Israeli attacks on Hezbollah. I didnt see anything like that around here.

We all - and I mean all - reveled in delight at what Israel was doing to Hezbollah, which was a mainstay of Assads forces. Israel massacred the Hezbollah leadership and their institutional back end in Lebanon. That withdrawal of Hezbollah forces from Syria is what caused this collapse.

If you did not want this development you should have been marching with the pro-Hamas idiots.

The Syrian regime was reliant on Hezbollah for military manpower.
The flip side of any benefits of the Assad regime was Israel tolerating constant bombardments by Hezbollah.

Israel caused massive institutional damage to Hezbollah, which is why all this is happening. I didnt see anyone here complaining about Israels actions recently.

There is a whole lot of foreign groups playing in that sandbox. Kind of a Gog and Magog situation.

It was an obvious consequence of Israels policy re Hezbollah.
Did you oppose Israel? No?
Then you too must have wished for this result.

Looks like Turkey taking advantage of Iranian and Russian weakness, after their losses to Israel and Ukraine.

Looks like the Syrian Civil War is going to heat up again.
