Sanctuary states, cities should explain to DOGE why they deserve federal money: MTG

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says subcommittee will look at government programs, contracts, employees

...

Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said leaders of sanctuary states and cities should have to explain why they deserve federal dollars to a new congressional subcommittee bent on cutting government waste.

Greene, who was tapped to lead a subcommittee working with the Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), laid out how she hopes to cut government spending

...

One area Greene said she wants the subcommittee to investigate is tied to the immigration crisis.

"I'd like to talk to the governors of sanctuary states and the mayors of sanctuary cities and have them come before our committee and explain why they deserve federal dollars if they're going to harbor illegal criminal aliens in their states and their cities

...

Greene specifically noted the death of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student who was brutally murdered while jogging on the University of Georgia campus in Athens in February. Jose Ibarra, a Venezuelan illegal immigrant, was convicted in her murder. Ibarra had been granted a "humanitarian flight" from New York City to Atlanta in September 2023.

...

government-funded media programs like NPR, which she claimed "spread nothing but Democrat propaganda," will be under the subcommittee’s microscope.

...

thousands – of buildings that the federal government owns and pays for with over $15 billion a year, but yet those government buildings stood empty and these government employees stay at home."

How about—they answer to their bona fide sovereign CITIZENS who are being robbed and raped?

Seems like the days of the unaccountable public ANTIservants may be coming to a close.

NYS got a sh**load of money for their “Sanctuary” city. I think individual cities snagged a bag of cash, too.

At least half the country agree with you, and we have to do something with that power.

Up to now:

Lawfare against Trump and his associates——fine.

Criminals including illegals get out of jail free——fine.

Illegals living off tax money in hotels and flying free to endanger other cities——fine.

Attempts to cut off aid to law defying “sanctuary cities”-—courts will block it.

You go MTG!

I hope we can watch them squirm in their seats trying to explain it all to the committee.

Also explain the justification for refusing to cooperate with ICE.

Then post the entire interview on X.

Itemize each dollar they receive. Tired of responsible red states footing the bill for the California Corruptocracy. Cap the amount of federal dollars they can spend on non citizens, although the correct amount should be zero.

Explain? No! If they violate federal law, cut them off! Not a dime.

What sort of “explanation” could there be?

We are way past the ‘explaining’ stage.

I went them to slice and dice the budget.

But I am guessing it can’t be that simple...nothing with “government” ever is.

Will they have authority to directly cut budgets? Or will it have to go through the house and senate, where everyone loves them some pork?

They need to explain why the mayors of sanctuary cities are not put in prison. Section 1324 title 8 says it’s a federal felony to ENCOURAGE illegals to come to or reside in america. That means they get nothing. No welfare or drivers licenses or free school for their kids. And you can’t give them a job or rent an apartment to them either.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1324

(A)Any person who—

(iv)encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law; or
(v)
(I)engages in any conspiracy to commit any of the preceding acts, or
(II)aids or abets the commission of any of the preceding acts,
shall be punished as provided in subparagraph (B).

(B)A person who violates subparagraph (A) shall, for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs—

(iv)in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) resulting in the death of any person, be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined under title 18, or both.

It is to hoped that Trump will tell them “not one red cent of American taxpayers’ money will your cesspool of a city receive; you want to take care of wetbacks it’s on you.”

“Oh and by the way, if you decide to burn your city in protest, well, you broke it, you buy it; go to the DNC and your leftist sugar daddies and force them to pony up the money.”

What would really be entertaining is for Trump to tell them, “you will pay for damages and if you refuse, you will be hit w arrested and hit with punitive damages and asset forfeiture.”

Wouldn’t that be fun?
