Putin warns West as Russia hits Ukraine with new missile

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that an attack by his forces on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Thursday morning was carried out using "a new conventional intermediate-range missile".

He said that the missile, codenamed Oreshnik, was a response to the use by Ukraine of US and UK long-range weaponry to hit targets inside Russia.

Putin added that Russia could attack military facilities of those countries which allowed their weapons to be used for this purpose.

The US and the UK authorised the use of US ATACMS and UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles this week, in a major change of policy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia's use of the new missile was "a clear and severe escalation in the scale and brutality of this war."

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has said" and "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said."

Salvos traded back and forth. Some are words. Some are missiles. Tick tock.

That Zelensky doesn't miss much, does he?

Putin is right, he has every right to defend his country against the countries attacking him. Yes, that includes the USA and the UK at the very minimum.

He has every right to start WWIII and that’s what the United States hopes he will do. We’re a sick nation.

God save us from these demonics. Amen.

I still can't grasp why Biden (or his handlers, rather) wanted to cause a wave of 20 million illegals to enter the country. The whole voting thing didn't pan out. Even the "build the population of blue cities for census" is 6 years away and doesn't guarantee anything. What immediate benefit is there for them?

I DO believe there are a group of neo-marxist ideologues in DC who simply HATE the USA. They feel its too white, too conservative, too stable, founded on Christian principles. they want chaos. The simply want to watch the USA burn.

Indeed, God save us from these demonics.

Putin is right, he has every right to defend his country against the countries attacking him.

But Putin is not the one fighting a defensive war, Ukraine is. Putin is the attacker. It is Ukraine that has the right to strike back. If Putin would just pull his forces out of Ukraine there would no longer be attacks on either side.

I really tire of those who try make out that Russia is the victim and Ukraine the aggressor.

I’m so sick of you unthinking idiots. The USA/NATO started it all.
You’re an imbecile to believe otherwise.

These are supposed to be RS 26 missiles.

Have you ever seen anything like this before? Reminiscent of the Tom Cruise War of the Worlds alien entry.

Is this ICBM MIRV technology? My understanding of MIRV the last fifty years was multiple independent reentry vehicles designed to hit multiple cities. I’d never thought of using them conventionally like this. I count 6 waves of 6 warheads. Six ICBMs with a mirv of six warheads?

“ It is equipped with a thermonuclear MIRV or MaRV payload, and is also intended to be capable of carrying the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle”

“The high speed of the Avangard likely gives it far better target-penetration characteristics than subsonic cruise-missiles. The Avangard weighs about 2,000 kg and travels at Mach 20–27, giving it the equivalent of 21 tons of TNT in kinetic energy alone, excluding any explosive warhead.“

It appears the Russians could have possibly landed 36 Avangards on anything they wished in Ukraine last night had they cared to.

The USA/NATO started it all.

Just repeating that does not make it so. It was Russia, not Ukraine, that started hostilities. Ukraine was not a threat to Russia. And do not bring up NATO membership. Ukraine was not invited to join and could not join. All the statements about Ukraine joining NATO were just diplomatic platitudes. It was not going to happen, and Putin knew this. Indeed, the first steps in this drama was Putin blocking the economic, not military, agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

Please take a look at Putin's statement about his attitude about Ukraine. He regards it as rightfully a part of Russia, that Ukraine is not a real country. He invaded because he thought that he could get away with it under a weak Biden. Russia is not the victim here, and is not the one who is defending itself.

Wrong. Putin is the one who started the war against Ukraine, not the other way around.

It’s surprising to see how many here support his war crimes.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine was not the unprovoked attack you War Pigs say it was.

It started in 1990 when James Baker promised Gorbachev that NATO would not expand one inch further eastward if Russia agreed to the reunification of Germany, thereby officially ending WW II.

Gorbachev agreed, but within four years we began expanding NATO eastward anyway. The Russian invasion occurred when NATO began teasing NATO membership for Ukraine, whose name literally means "borderland" because it is on the border with Russia and has been the origin of multiple invasions of Russia in the past.

This is not a Russia vs Ukraine war.

It is a US Deep State/Totalitarian Globalist vs Sovereign Nation-State war.

We fomented a Ukraine revolution/coup in 2014, caused a civil war and sided with the neo-Nazis and Ukrainian nationalists that wanted to exterminate the ethnic Russian population.

We encouraged Ukraine to ignore the Minsk Agreement it signed that would have brought peace to the region.

We armed Ukraine with offensive weapons, teased NATO membership for Ukraine and opened biological weapons labs there.

Then we built the Ukrainian army into the largest army in the NATO zone besides us, and massed it for deployment in the area of the Donbass in obvious preparation for an attack.

And finally, when Russia responded to all that, we claimed they invaded Ukraine for no good reason to annex territory.

Ukraine gets to decide their own destiny. Before 2014, they were controlled by the Russians.

The War Pigs/CIA decide Ukraine's destiny. After 2014 they were controlled by the War Pigs/CIA.

It gets so old to hear that wannabe communist screaming about nukes on a daily basis.

We should have completely disarmed them after the fall of the soviet union.

It's more complicated that that. Did we have a role? Yes.

But we have to be aware of the history of Ukraine. They're tired of being under Russian occupation. They were finally "independent" in 2014 for the first time in a very long time.
