Alex Jones reveals Elon Musk saved Infowars from being sold to The Onion
The Daily Mail ^ | Nov 17, 2024 | Stephen M. Lepore

Alex Jones has declared 'the cavalry is here' as attorneys for Elon Musk's X jumped in to help put a temporary pause on the sale of his beloved Infowars to The Onion.

The satirical news publication said the bid was sanctioned by the families of Sandy Hook Elementary victims who won a $1.4 billion defamation lawsuit against Jones in 2022.

But a federal judge has questioned the secretive bidding process, with Jones believing it gives him a chance to reclaim his outlet.

Lawyers for the Musk-owned social media outlet filed a notice of appearance in Jones' bankruptcy case Thursday.

The filing, dated Thursday, doesn't specify why they've appeared, merely that they want to become an interested party in the case and want to receive all relevant documentation.

Jones reveled in the news in a broadcast on X Sunday evening, believing that 'the cavalry is here' to rescue Infowars.

'I was told Elon is going to be very involved in this,' Jones said, while heaping praise on Musk as a defender of freedom and free speech.

'Elon Musk understands these basic fundamentals that more people need to understand,' he said.....

The “auction” to The Onion was a complete fraud. They conducted the “auction” without the knowledge of the judge, and he is pissed. The Onion did not have the cash, which was fraud on its face.

The tables are being turned and the hunted has become the hunter. Jones has multiple lawsuits in the works, and the crimes he is suing over are real.

This Onion CEO...Ben Collins...does not really appear to have any substantial capital. Maybe someone can correct me....but I thought the Onion kinda peaked out 2010-2014 era. I would be asking what foundation is behind Collins.

This INFOWARs-purchase deal...seems to be some legal scam that the DoJ was connected to. No one seemed to have real cash/currency.

They illegally shut Infowars down, then a few hours later turned it back over to him and said they had made a mistake and “no hard feelings” after they have spent years trying to destroy Alex and his family.

They have a big surprise coming their way.

I don't get what's going on here. Why wouldn't they sell Infowars to the highest bidder and to someone with cash? Don't the Sandy Hook plaintiffs want to make as much money as possible and stick it to Alex Jones as much as they can?

Elon Musk is rapidly turning into a hero.

When people take “actions” which serve others, out of free will and with the knowledge that there are risks and costs to them, but they do the “right thing” anyhow, that makes them a hero.

$1.4 billion is beyond excessive.

This is another case where the justice system is used to eliminate someone with ideas and a voice that are in disagreement with the establishment and ruling elites.

This is actually EXACTLY why we’re supposed to have a constitutional protected free speech.

The Onion needs a proctological exam by the SEC.

I haven't seen them do anything in a while. They used to do satire just like the Babylon Bee, except from a liberal point of view. But I remember 10 years ago, Liberals were capable of being funny before the woke virus.

The DoJ needs a proctological exam and I think it’s going to get one in the not too distant future.

The 2000 Onion election coverage was some of the funniest writing I’ve read. A civil war broke out with Bush and Gore each declaring himself president, Clinton declaring himself president for life from the White House bunker, Pat Buchanan leading hundreds of Jewish followers into Florida just before all communications were lost, and the Libertarian candidate fighting for fifth place in one county following a recount.

The DoJ didn’t have a role in Jone’s case. Jones wasn’t charged with any crime.

These were all tort actions, civil lawsuits claiming personal damage. “Defamation”, “emotional distress”. That sort of thing.

Jones declared bankruptcy in response to the $1.5B judgement against him. His property, including Infowars, was put up for auction with the proceeds to go to the plaintiffs.

There were two bidders. The higher, rejected bid of $3.5M is reported as being “Jones affiliated”. The Onion bid, while lower, supposedly is better for some of Jone’s creditors.

The way that the “auction” was handled lacked transparency and will probably get redone.

It was a “secret auction” where the high bidder DIDN’T win. And it was all done without the bankruptcy judge being involved.

It stinks in its entirety.

I got all that. Why didn't the highest bidder win? Don't the Sandy Hook plaintiffs and their lawyers wan't to maximize their profit off Alex Jones' bankruptcy? I thought that was the whole point of the verdict.

I think this is what happened: Alex Jones and his team organized a sale of Infowars that circumvented normal auction rules, and ensured a lowball winning bid from a company with no money nor assets. I think Alex Jones is in more legal trouble.

what foundation

LOL. With all the slush $$ floating around the country, it could be literally anyone from zero to the peonlosis to a blm founder to a catholic charity both associated with Sandy Hook and importing illegals.

I doubt we'll ever know, but how this plays out should prove very, very interesting.

That judgement violates Alex’s 8th Amendment rights.

The Onion doesn't have cash.

But I'd heard The Onion had the support of the Sandy Hook families, which put up the $1.4 billion judgment as payment for Infowars.

Again, how can a country passively allow “the families of Sandy Hook Elementary victims who won a $1.4 billion defamation lawsuit against Jones in 2022.”

An abomination.

No people’s feelings are worth that much money in a legal settlement.

Part of why I am so angry at half the American people.

I never really cared for Jones’ stchick, but a blind worm can see that he got royally ass-reamed by the system for civil damages real or perceived. Being a jerk is still legal.
