Russia open to any Ukraine peace talks if Trump starts them, envoy says

GENEVA, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Russia is open to negotiations on an end to the Ukraine war if initiated by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, but any talks need to be based on the realities of Russian advances, Moscow's ambassador to the U.N. in Geneva told reporters on Thursday.

Trump has repeatedly criticised the scale of Western aid to Kyiv and has promised to end the conflict swiftly, without explaining how. His victory in the Nov. 5 presidential election has spurred concerns in Kyiv and other European capitals about the degree of future U.S. commitment to helping Ukraine.

"Trump promised to settle the Ukrainian crisis overnight. OK, let him try. But we are realistic people of course we understand that this will never happen," said Gennady Gatilov, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva.

"But if he starts or suggests something to start the political process, it's welcome."

He added that any such negotiations needed to be based on what he called the "realities on the ground", describing Ukraine as being on the back foot in the more-than-two-year conflict. Russian forces are advancing at the fastest pace in at least a year in Ukraine and now control about one-fifth of the country.

...and the result of any negotiations will likely be identical to what could have been achieved over two years ago, if Biden hadn’t insisted on intervening...

If Biden (and before him) Obama/Clinton and the US neocons hadn't intervened a decade ago, Ukraine would be whole, mostly prosperous (probably still corrupt as hell), but peaceful - and neutral.

Ghouls like the Kagans and Blinken had other ideas.

Vlad has been gaining territory at an astonishing pace presumably before Trump takes office….Lughansk is now fully liberated, Donetsk at 85 percent.

St Z’s negotiations ( surrender) will start with “ the realities “ on the battlefield…poor St Z will have to cede the ethnic Russian provinces in exchange for survival of a Ukrainian “ state”- one that will be neutral by Rada legislation (no NATO), and the hard part- DeNazification.

Vlads stated objectives are being met….and senile Joe’s war cheerleaders will have to embrace “ Neuvo Russia”.

Zelinksi’s nuclear blackmail may require Trump or the US to get rid of him quickly; Trump or Biden should demand this mad dog step down immediatley. This is the third time Zelinski has threatened getting nuclear weapons, the first of which may have been the catalysis for the war itself. Zelinski’s comments about nuclear weapons in Feburary 22 was probably the last straw for Putin given that the Special Operation began the following week after the conference. Kamala Harris, Boris Johnson and other western leaders would not push back when Zelinski wanted nuclear weapons back then. Today Russia feels vindicated over the SO with this idiot and the war. We are closer to a nuclear war in Europe than many understand as long as Zelinski and his crew of psychopats remain in power.

The west needs to put their mad dog down before it bites someone and they end up bit in the butt as a result.

Biden has created a monster. The EU and the US will be responsible for Zelinski’s nuclear threats in the eyes of the entire world since they are not doing anything to end it. To quote the left, silence is violence.

…….
Intervention started at Maidan in 2014 by Nuland and McCain….their Project Ukraine has failed, miserably….and that’s a good thing.

"Liberated" or "occupied"? There is a difference.

I don’t know about THAT, but, Trump did say a while back that Russia’s current position was unacceptable.

Likely everyone is just trying to stake out positions to negotiate from. The wild card is whether or not there are a few million Ukies willing to fight — even a guerilla war if necessary.

Vlad is keeping the ethnic Russian provinces that voted to become a part of Neuvo Russia- cemented by Duma decree, they are now a part of the Russian Federation.

Today it was announced by EU news agencies that there will be “territorial concessions “…..and St Z may finally allow elections in May…. St Z loses, the new Ukraine leader will comply with the “ negotiations”…St Z slithers off to one of his mansions….

The collective West spins this as a victory, St Z keeps his head, Vlad keeps his liberated provinces….and the EU resumes buying their cheap energy and commodities from Russia.
