Representative Dan Goldman (D-NY) said Tuesday on CNN’s “OutFront” that he was “shocked” President-elect Donald Trump picked Fox News host Pete Hegseth as the next secretary of defense.
Host Erin Burnett said, “First Pete Hegseth, Trump choosing him, the Fox News host, for Defense Secretary. What do you think?” Goldman said, “I’m shocked, truly. This is exactly what we worry about and warned about Donald Trump, which is that he is going to appoint unqualified loyalists to shape this government into his own personal thiefdom, and get revenge on generals and put essentially really unqualified people.”

There is no more unqualified loyalist than Kamala Harris. Blew her way into politics. Was rewarded with high-paying patronage jobs. Was not qualified for any of the positions she held in California and never learned a thing from them. Didn’t win a single vote to make her the candidate.

Goldman is an heir to the Levi Strauss jeans fortune. He’s one of the nastiest Trump haters out there and is the sort of guy who Barry Switzer had in mind when he said, “Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple.” Goldman can shove it.
Hegseth only has a masters degree from Harvard, is a major in the National Guard with combat experience and two Bronze Stars, plus real world business experience.
But next to the perfumed princes of the pentagon, he probably seems like some kind of pissant in their eyes. Good. There probably aren’t many in that building who haven’t the level of their incompetence, judging from the bonehead decisions and woke ideology that’s permeated the place.
Turn Elon and Vivek loose, I guarantee you that the US military would run as well as Twitter/X does with a fraction of the amount of overhead.

The idea that you have to be in government to join thr government is antithetical to the whole American experiment. Kamala Harris was the AG of a failed state and they were all ready to give her the nuclear codes so spare me the outrage. He is going to set military policy, readiness, culture. Is it really beyond men? We’ll see. He’ll have support and Im open to this idea. When the government is fully cò opted and corrupted this is a logical decision.
