A United States Post Office clerk went into work the day after the 2024 presidential election wearing Trump attire and was asked to change clothes.
Michelle Albert, 57, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, says she felt “violated and embarrassed” soon after beginning her shift at the distribution center in Warrendale.
“It’s the day after he won,” she says. “You should be able to wear what you want.
Michelle began her workday like any other. “At 3:00 PM, I clocked in and I was staying there waiting for our pre-sort,” she recalls.
“My MDO [manager, distribution operations] walked up to me. She came charging out of the office and she came right up to me and pointed at me. And she said, ‘You can’t wear that here.’ I said, ‘Why can’t I? The election is over. Trump won.’”

and an orange shirt on alternate days.
“The election was over. So how can they say it was related to elections?”
Does that post office have a picture of Joe Biden hanging on the wall?
You’ll find the picture of the current president in every government department/agency.............
Our local PO kept Obongo hanging on the wall for a couple of years after Trump took office. I made a stink and Obongo was removed but no picture went up to replace him. That PO is now closed so I never got to bug them about Biden.
Oh well.
Maybe you’ll get another chance.
But a picture on the wall doesn’t change who the next President is.
Common Sense? Bet her witch supervisor was happy to let anyone wear Biden & Harris attire! I retired from the Post Office and the blacks could get away with wearing anything! They wore Malcolm X shirts, “Its a black thang, you wouldn’t understand”, Obama shirts, etc.
You need to get your head out of the sand! Conservatives should be afforded the same protections as the liberals. And yes I am well aware of the Hatch Act, that applies to campaigning in uniform and being elected to political office.
Try again, a distribution center wouldn’t be public facing. Only carriers, window clerks, and a few others would be public facing.
Damn you people really need to visit a distribution center for the post office! They wear whatever they want these days. Used to be you had to follow a dress code, not since Obama has that been followed. Saggy britches, holey sweat pants (with those holes in strategic spots), crocs, offensive slogans, anything promoting perversions, etc is the norm these days. A Trump t-shirt after the election should be the least of that manager’s concerns.
