This article has been updated to include another win for House Republicans called later on Monday night.

On Monday evening, 7:13pm EST, Decision Desk HQ projected that Republicans will retain control of the House of Representatives as a result of the 2024 elections. Republicans also seized control of the Senate last Tuesday, thanks to Sen-elect Bernie Moreno's win in Ohio after he unseated Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown.

It sure took those districts long enough to count.

There’s still that pesky 60 vote required in the Senate for certain bills.

Okay the Repubs can control what legislation comes to the floor but can they get enough RINOS to fall in line to pass it?

Dont make the mistake Harry Reid made when he remov3ed the fillibuster for judge and SCOTUS appoints...thinking that there would be democrats in power as far as the eye could see.

It bit him in the ass three months later...in a very big way.

Ha, that’s nothing Pennsylvania is still counting our senate race.
Casey is trying to manufacture enough votes outta Philly, he just needs to know how many are needed.
Heard McCormick is up near 40K, but provisionals are still out there, and of course those can’t be counted quickly, and in the open! /s
Hope McCormick can do it!

They won’t change it...McCarthy discussed the work around to the 60 votes...but I don’t know how to describe it.

Like impeachment conviction??

But confirmation for Supreme Court justices only require a simple majority. That may be one of the single most important impacts of this senate session.

As a bonus, no chuckie schumer looking over his ill fitting glasses as majority leader.

Interesting isn’t it the choice of words.
In general:
Republicans seize control.
Democrats win control.

Curious the implications.

Yes, I do wish we had gotten a supermajority in the Senate--but, believe me, I'm profoundly grateful for the blessing we have received.

Could we aim for a supermajority in the midterms?

I know there are work arounds in budget reconciliation bills...and democrats have used/abused that in the past to circumvent the filibuster...but other than that...I’m not sure.

Until Trump keeps moving them to his Cabinet. He needs to keep a strong majority to get stuff done.

Like impeachment conviction??

Impeachment is written into the constitution and require 2/3rds to convict.

No fricking "projections". It's not a done deal until the races are called. Now do we have control of the house, or not?

How many Republicans are secret Trump haters? They need to be ferreted out.
Have their financial data and records turned in to Trumps team for audit. Then xxxx (fill in the blank).

Many are corrupted, bought out, follow the money.
