Thank You.
Here’s health to you and to our Corps!
Older than the official U.S. birthday?
I feel old...
To this day one of my proudest moments was when I earned the title, United States Marine! Happy birthday USMC!
Semper Fi, brothers and sisters!
Happy Birthday and Semper Fi.
I wasn’t infantry. I was a bad a$$. You should have seen what I could do with a pen and clip board.
It was a tough job. I could have been cut all up by that paper.
Semper Fi!
L
After boot camp I was assigned to air traffic control, air conditioned buildings the rest of my Marine Corps life.
Sempre Fi
From the Halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country’s battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.
Our flag’s unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in ev’ry clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job
The United States Marines.
Here’s health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve;
In many a strife we’ve fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven’s scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.
That is a soft job. Me every day there was a threat that I could put my eye out with a pen.
I had to leave my AC office to tell others what to do or where to go. It is tough doing logistics and embarkation. I actually broke out in a sweat sometimes.
Happy birthday to you and all Marines.
Isn’t the amphibious jarhead obsolete?
Think Beruit-1983. Why were they doing police work? To impress somebody? 250 didn’t find out. Perhaps Reagan was naive in a way Trump wasn’t.
5 days later we invade Grenada, Took our minds off our loss. Very Clintonesque.
Happy Birthday
Yut!
Happy Birthday
WMs, ok, but transgenders and homosexuals, no thanks.
The mission of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) is to serve as the nation’s expeditionary armed force, ready to respond to crises around the world. The Corps focuses on conducting expeditionary and amphibious operations, providing security for U.S. embassies, and supporting naval campaigns, while maintaining a primary focus on combat readiness.
Enlisted:
I (state your name) do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
Comparing the oath to the mission, has there been mission creep? look at them closely. liberal influence on mission statement but they can’t change the oath out of tradition?
just thinking this morning. maybe it is ok. In my reading skills I have learned to look for what is not there. Anyone know the history of the mission statement and has it changed and how.
That said, I had an uncle that was injured and in a wheel chair from Iwo Jima. Center of our family. I think of kids these days who don’t have any connection. MAGA
Keep pickin’ ‘em up and settin’ ‘em down. Always Faithful.
GUNG-HO!
Old Corps underpaid, oversexed, teenage killers!
Politicians ruin armed services. The day we left winning wars to politicians instead of Generals is the day winning wars was no more
Back in the day we had Hard-Tails and Soft Tails (BAMS) but no Trannies, Homos, Lesbians or any of the democrats' other 168 genders from Uranus.
