Victor Davis Hanson, Historian, Commentator and Author: Election 2024 - Why Trump Won
John Anderson (former Australian Deputy Prime Minister) ^ | 7 November 2024 | John Anderson

Posted on 11/09/2024 9:24:20 AM PST by FreedomPoster

Victor Davis Hanson joins John after President-elect Trump's victory to explore why his direct style resonated with middle America. Hanson examines the economic and social factors driving Trump’s appeal, from rising inflation and border insecurity, to the sense of exclusion felt by many Americans. This interview highlights the stark divide between global elites and everyday citizens, examining how media and institutions underestimated public frustration.

Hanson argues that Trump’s policies address real concerns, fostering a lasting loyalty among voters. In addition to domestic dynamics, Hanson assesses Trump’s assertive approach to foreign policy, from NATO to trade relations, and its effect on global alliances.

Victor Davis Hanson is the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow in Residence in Classics and Military History at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He is a nationally syndicated columnist and has written many books on ancient and modern warfare. His most recent books are The End of Everything: How Wars Descend into Annihilation and The Case for Trump: 2024 Edition.

Excellent interview with VDH. VDH saw this win coming better than probably 90% or more of the so-called pollsters.

Also covers what foreign policy, national policy, etc. will look like under Trump47 from his very historically informed perspective.

About 1h12m run time.

The math is clear. Trump won because of the absence of the massive mail-ballot electoral fraud that decided the 2020 election. Over 10 million imaginary voters just disappeared.

Geez! With a headline like that, I was sure it would end with “…Has Died”! 😱😄

The only pollsters who got it correct were dismissed as “Republican” pollsters, Rasmussen, Baris, Trafalgar, etc. Atlas Intel got it correct too and they are non-partisan as far as I can tell.

My favorite line from Hanson about Trump’s 2016 win is “…Trump had all the right enemies.” It was true then and has held since.

While election integrity efforts both at the grassroots (I watched it happen) and national (Trump47 campaign) were vital, so were GOTV efforts. Scott Pressler’s work in PA on new voter registrations is a stellar example of that.

We still have a lot of hard work before us. It will take all of the above for a long time.

Apart from the first two, these are from the results of the FR search "Why Trump" -- btw, kudos to JimRob, that works in either order and treats the rest of the title like wild cards!

Voter turnout appears to be way down in 2024 from 2020.

Were that many voters just not interested in voting this time?

Or is there another reason why far fewer votes are counted this year compared to 4 years ago?

Should read:

Or is there another reason why far fewer votes are counted this year compared to 4 years ago? And 8 years ago. And 12 years ago. And that is WITH POPULATION GROWTH.

We wrung some of the cheat out of the system. There was a LOT more election integrity effort in place in this cycle.
