Few have expressed glee at Donald Trump’s election win like Europe’s far right.
“We have big plans for the future!” posted Hungary’s Prime Minister Vikor Orbán, an influential Trump friend and ally, calling it “a much needed victory for the World!”
The Netherlands’ Geert Wilders, an anti-Muslim firebrand who is sometimes labeled the “Dutch Trump,” urged his Washington counterpart to “NEVER STOP, ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING AND WIN ELECTIONS!”
In Italy, right-wing Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who has softened her approach since taking office, heralded the “unshakable alliance, common values and historic friendship” between Washington and Rome.
And Alice Weidel, co-chairperson of the far-right Alternative for Germany, or AfD, said the vote was a repudiation of “woke Hollywood.”
Argentina’s far right, libertarian president, Javier Milei, told Trump he could “count on Argentina to carry out your task.” And Israel’s ultranationalist National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reacted with a “Yesssss.”

To NBC, everyone who is not an open socialist is “far right”.
Why would NBC understand European politics any better than they understand US politics? Someone was obviously paid to write some “progressive” article and this is the (worthless) result.
Well to begin with the leaders they cited are not really “far” Right. They’re mainstream Right.

Exactly. With the MSM, the only “right” in Europe is the “far right.”
When the most liberal Senator there was doesn’t qualify as “Far Left,” These labels have lost all meaning.
Maybe, someday soon, we can all reach a point where we simply ignore nonsense media such as NBC News.

Far Right. Anyone who believes in sovereign nations. Who believes in the rights of the person over a false utopia. Who believes in laws equally applied (even if sometimes only in theory). Who believes the family is the building block of civilization. Who believes government must be answerable to the people. Who believes government authority should have limits.
But most all of anyone who believes the rights we have are inherent to us by virtue of our personhood grated to us by the grace of God. And not a indulgent gift of the government.
