Donald Trump and the Republican Party have made significant inroads among Latino voters. At the same time, vitriolic ads are continually being released that feature racist and demagogic depictions of immigrants, especially Latino ones. And, if you remember, despite Trump’s relentless anti-immigrant rhetoric, he won a higher percentage of the Latino vote in 2020 than he did in 2016. With less than 20 days to go until Election Day, immigration policy continues to be front and center as one of the most polarizing issues this year. What is driving the rise in far-right sentiment among Latinos? Paola Ramos is an award-winning journalist and an author. Poor baby.
Hispanics have far more in common with conservative and middle America than they do with liberal America. This movement should have happened years ago. We’re going to need a much bigger tent because they are huge in numbers.
Remember which culture we got the word “macho” from.
When you base the entire argument on shameless knowing ling Chris Hayes, you render yourself utter useless as information source. Instead you are only mindless preaching your hate based emotional dogmas to a choir of like minded brain dead bot listeners
It is unrealistic to speak of Latinos and Spanish speaking illegals as being in one group.
It’s crazy that the liberal view has been that Latinos are supposed to vote Democrat, because Republicans are xenophobic, and by extension , Latinos are supposed to be in favor of illegal aliens coming into America.
There was a county in Texas which is mostly Mexican-American which voted heavily for Trump this time. It’s hard for liberals to get their arms around that one.
The lefties term LatinX is stunningly tone deaf.
It is a red flag waving in front of people who speak a language where many words are defined as male and female.
It is open war on Hispanic culture—just like wokeness is open war on Anglo culture.
“Far Right” means anyone who doesn’t accept every word that AOC urps out as gospel.
“Many decades of work by the Dems to capture this demographic… Only to be flushed down the toilet in several years by dem’s completely idiotic super woke leadership.”
I suspect that Trump picked up another 5 points in the Latino community due to the Democrats using “Latinx”, which is despised by 98% of Latinos (and Latinas).
And it broke the camel’s back. That and the weird trans stuff.
Some FR folks said for years that we were wrong to believe that Hispanics would come around to our side one day.
They seemed right. I believed they would too..and they never did.
Until now...and we still didn’t get the majority...it was only 5 points with hispanic men but a bunch more with women, I think.
But it’s light years past what has been and it can be BUILT UPON.
It was the same with ethnic white groups that came over in large numbers.
At first they were dems..until they found out they were being used.
Republicans need to build on what has been done by getting even tougher and more ruthless in reminding every single American that the Democrats are woke maniacs.
We need every American to know the Democrats are the party of sixty seven genders and him/her and they/them and other insane garbage.
Imho if every single voter knew that we could win 60% of the popular vote in a national election.
