On the day after Election Day, comedian and former late-night TV host Jay Leno insisted that the election of Donald Trump on Tuesday was a “great day for democracy.”
Appearing Wednesday on the CBS daytime show, The Talk, the 74-year-old star and famed car collector was pleased that the election was “fair and honest.”
“The nice thing about this election is, it was fair, it was honest,” the former Tonight Show host said.
While insisting he was not really a Trump fan, he added, “but that’s OK, it’s the president of the United States – let’s all get together, thank you very much.”

Leno hails from a time when late night comedians were more subtle in their push lean viewers a little further to the left.
I think Leno was a moderate for the most part, it was his wife who was left. She’s in decline now and he’s out of the spot light, so maybe he’s being himself, or more so, anyway? If I recall correctly, his late night show poked fun at both parties. He was the last of those hosts that wasn’t a true lefty or touted the lefty line. My two cents.
Leno is a Democrat. But at least he keeps his mouth shut about it in public and did make fun of Democrats.
Only because Lara Trump deployed 620,000 watchers to keep an eye on things.
Best live show I've ever been to was Jay Leno with Tina Turner, in Vegas in 1988. Classy pair.
Leno was the last proper late talk show host and turned the lights out when he left.....other than Greg Gutfeld all we have now are cockroaches scurrying around in the dark.

He’s also a comedian, a group that has become acutely aware of the shift towards a toxic culture of thought control and political correctness. Things which spell the death of comedy.
It was a great day for the REPUBLIC, not democracy. I wish they would stop saying that.

Absolutely not. The Democrats' and the Deep State's lawfare made the election grossly unfair.
Additionally, the Deep State's censorship through their proxies, Google, YouTube, and FaceBook made the election neither free nor fair.
And just because the Democrats' cheating was this time insufficient to carry the election, doesn't mean that the election was honest.

I don’t consider it to be fair, just because the Democrats didn’t manage to cheat enough this time. They need to implement audits on demand for every election in every state.

Despite that, there still was a good deal of shenanigans at various places across the country. I'm betting the GOP lost a few seats (Senate and House) because of fraud that wasn't caught or limited enough by the RNC.
Maybe being around Tim Allen - Leno was a semi-regular on Last Man Standing - influenced him.
