Speaker Mike Johnson to campaign in tight House races election eve: ‘Our majority runs directly through Virginia’

ARLINGTON, Va. — Speaker Mike Johnson will spend election eve campaigning in two critical House districts in the Old Dominion, exclusively telling The Post the “road to keeping and growing our majority runs directly through Virginia, where we have two veterans who will win and deliver results for Commonwealth families.”

The speaker will host events for Republicans Derrick Anderson, who’s running for an open seat, and freshman Rep. Jen Kiggans — and bring along some special guests.

“Congresswoman Kiggans is a champion for veterans, our troops, and military families and works across the aisle to fight for Virginia’s 2nd District. Green Beret Derrick Anderson has served our country and will be a strong voice for Virginia’s 7th District to secure our border, fix our economy, and restore peace through strength,” Johnson told The Post.

“After campaigning in more than 250 cities across 40 states, I look forward to turning out the vote across Virginia on the eve of the most important election of our lifetimes.”

Former President Donald Trump opened his Salem, Va., rally Saturday night boldly saying, “I’m here today in this incredible commonwealth for one very simple reason — because I believe we can win Virginia.”

I would hope it isn’t that close given the results in the past 4 years, but re-districting has hurt the GOP chances.

Anderson is running against one of the fat, evil Vindeman twins.

If Trump wins Virginia early everything is over. Stop the Steal Virginia, vote early and we all go to bed.

It would be great for Trump to win VA. Since it looks like he will be a winning a majority of swing states, it might be even greater for Republican Hung Cao to defeat sitting senator and former VP candidate Tim Kaine and take his place in the US Senate.

This would be a massive repudiation and knockout blow for the Democratic Party as Kaine's seat has been considered safe for quite a while.

If Vindeman the traitor wins, it’s a sign our country is lost.

Might be tight. The fact that SNL also did a bit Saturday about Tim Kaine tells me they are worried. Tim Kaine never campaigns and I haven’t heard a peep out of him the entire time he’s been in office. He’s like the Invisible Man with a great job and good salary and benefits. Would l9ve to see him gone.

Well if he's constitutionally a "traitor," which may well be plausible, then charge and convict him of same! No Congressional immunity against that charge. That gets rid of him and new election gets held for the former seat. NOT easy to do, intentionally so according to the founding fathers, but possible.

Could also potentially get rid of him via an “insurrection” conviction and the 14th.
