The One Overlooked Reason Christians Should Vote in 2024
American Thinker ^ | October 30, 2024 | Dr. Mark Anderson

In the wake of the shocking headline that tens of millions of Christians are unlikely to vote in the 2024 election, there have been any number of articles urging Christians to vote. The articles’ reasons why they should range from patriotic duty to Christian duty to Biblical reasons. But there's one overlooked reason why Christians absolutely need to turn out to vote: Influence.

Before we get there, let me address the two biggest reasons cited in that study from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University. Some 68% of respondents said they were uninterested in politics. Plato, who lived in a democracy some 300 years before Christ, said, “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” It is as true today as it was then.

But extrapolate that out to the church. “One of the penalties for Christians refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by atheists.”

Christians in particular, but voters in general, fail to remember that elections mean that you are giving someone else legal authority over your life. That includes your family, your business, and even your church.

The Biden-Harris administration started its rule using COVID as the excuse to shut businesses and churches and use social media to shut up anyone who disagreed with their mandates or questioned the science. That was how they started. Throughout their administration they used to FBI and DoJ to spy on school board meetings and arrest Christians who didn't like woke teachers pushing pornography and transgenderism on their children.

By the end, they went even further. Just months ago, they rewrote Title IX to remove protections for women and girls in favor of biological males pretending to be women or girls.

Normalizing the execution of the most innocent is not like telling your kids Santa is coming.
Think about this: if the execution of the most innocent isn’t worthy to be a federal crime, what is? Do we teturn rape and incest to the states? Why not? What makes abortion different? Do you really think they will return election laws and affirmative action to the states???
Then why abortion?
We had a civil war to prove human life is a shared national value.
The worst is using these mass murders to obtain votes. This is the Grand Ole Planned Parenthood Party’s position.

The very idea that some people who call themselves Christian refuse to vote is absurd. Apparently, they argue that the sovereignty of God is the reason they stay home.

Of course, God is sovereign, but does this mean Christians are not to exercise their God-given gift of freedom and voting? Does this mean they are to be passive in this world. If they get sick do they refuse to go to the doctor or take medication because, “God is sovereign”?

Was Deitrich Bonhoeffer wrong to be involved in politics? Should you be passive in the face of evil, the Party of death and abortion?

Unbelievable.

There are a certain number of professing Christian people who are just flat-assed not interested in anything that some old Greek dude had to say.

Unfortunately.

Yeah, they rely on fauxian storefronts and simpletons like Billy Graham's granddaughter.

Plato's Republic is a blueprint for hierarchical elitist oligarchy, btw. :^)

Yes, very elitist oligarchy.

OTOH his allegory of the cave was as near a prophecy of life under the modern legacy media and public skools as is possible without being actual Biblical Prophecy.

One might speculate that if he’d lived in the holy land it might have made the cut...

Or not. :)

Most of the non-voting Christians that I run into just don’t care because they are not “of this world” and waiting for the ‘rapture’. My next door neighbor is putting off buying a new mower because he and his wife are going “to meet Jesus in the air” before spring.

Psalm 5

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren

When Hillary was talking about how preaching against homosexuality would be considered a “hate crime” - our pastor did a sermon on Romans 1:26-27.
