Russia test-fired missiles over distances of thousands of miles on Tuesday to simulate a "massive" nuclear response to an enemy first strike.

"Given the growing geopolitical tensions and the emergence of new external threats and risks, it is important to have modern and constantly ready-to-use strategic forces," President Vladimir Putin said as he announced the exercise.

It took place at a critical moment in the Russia-Ukraine war, after weeks of Russian signals to the West that Moscow will respond if the United States and its allies allow Kyiv to fire longer-range missiles deep into Russia.

All countries have to test fire missiles to ensure readiness with proof of readiness and capability. Only the timing in Redrick surrounding the launches provocative. I don’t blame them because NATO and the U.S. never let go of the Cold War and kept marching east right up to Russia’s borders.

AutoCorrect is a harsh mistress, I meant:

It used to be said that the Soviet Union was the only country surrounded by hostile communist neighbors.

It’s tough shit when you murder millions of people in neighboring countries, and generations later their descendants hate you. But here you are.

Nothing would please the WEF more than the First World destroying itself in a storm of nuclear fire.

After a year or two in their alpine LeaderBunkers they would emerge as kings over an impoverished and desperate mankind.

You slept through the 17th of this month.

Ukraine 'will seek nuclear weapons' if it cannot join Nato 17 October 2024

Ukraine Issues Nuclear Ultimatum to NATO 17 October 2024

Zelenskyy: We need NATO or nukes … and we want NATO 17 October 2024

Or Zelensky isn't a world leader.

Still --Vote for Trump/Vance in 2024.

“It’s tough shit when you murder millions of people in neighboring countries, and generations later their descendants hate you. But here you are.”

There is truth in your statement and it can also be said of America’s treatment of many nations I south of the border and parts of Southeast Asia and Europe that led to rampant anti-Americanism.

NATO and the U.S. ... kept marching east right up to Russia’s borders

What you meant to say was,

"all the countries right up to Russia's borders don't trust Russia anymore, so they've voluntarily joined NATO for their own safety & security"

---- "....all the countries right up to Russia's borders don't trust Russia anymore, so they've voluntarily joined NATO for their own safety & security"

This 'nuclear weapons in nations bordering on Russia' is an interesting topic for those who don't refer to maps. Finland, Estonia, Latvia border "mainland" Russia and Lithuania border the Kaliningrad portion. So....

As to trust and nations, I don't trust Trudeau's Canada, nor the Biden-Harris administration. Don't trust Russia, China, India, Mexico, the EU and more because I don't trust governments generally. Not even your Danielle Smith's Alberta.

And now that the Cheneys and some Bush daughter are on the Harris-Walz campaign trail....

Vote Trump in 2024. Unless you're a Canadian.

Looking back into which nations have used a nuclear weapon on an enemy.....

MAD is still a very real 'thing' and not a toy with which to play.

MAD actually worked throughout the cold war, because the colollary of MAD is how stupid any “first use” is, and both sides recgnized that and did not pretend otherwise.

Putin seems to ignore that and keeps threatening a first use.

Nobody is going to emerge to be king or queen of anything a year or two after a full nuclear exchange. It’s still the doomsday option.

Bullshit. We did not murder millions of people in Haiti, or Cuba, or Venezuela. Arguably the success of the U.S. economy has materially elevated each of those countries. The plight of Cuba when it cut itself off from the U.S. economy is evidence enough.

Wealth and success do invite envy, envy which this country has earned, granted. Russia has wisely avoided those sources of envy, wealth and success, but stumbled into criminal governance and near genocidal levels of slaughter to arouse intergenerational hatred.

They took the short cut, the easy way to be hated.
