Most likely this is true. The new Iranian president does not have the belly for a regional war. Kudos to the Israelis for the limited attack.

This entire "war" has been a bizarre dance of various proxies making strikes for both symbolic, PR and also military purposes, with weeks of consideration and planning in between, with consultation with allies on what the "red-lines" are.

Perhaps there is an opportunity now for both sides to realize they will not destroy the other, and to somehow make a true peace.

Not an expert, not an analyst but Israel knows what they are doing. They have done whatever they do well for the last nearly 70 years of my life. The raid on Saddam's reactor was simply flawless and admired my militarists around the world.

Iran is not to be trusted at all but I think they may have found out that their defenses are just about useless against the Israeli's. If the mullahs keep up what they have been doing and Israel gives them another dose of what they can dish out the mullahs may find themselves fighting on a front inside their own house.
