During a portion of an interview with NBC News Senior Washington Correspondent Hallie Jackson that was aired on Tuesday’s broadcast of “NBC Nightly News,” 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris said that she thinks the federal minimum wage should be “at least $15 an hour.” But she’ll work with Congress on the issue since the issue will go through Congress.
During a report on her interview with Harris, Jackson said, “And on the campaign trail, she criticized former President Trump on minimum wage after he avoided saying whether it should be raised while campaigning at a McDonald’s.”
Jackson then played a clip where she asked Harris, “Do you have a number? What would you like to see it at?”

Why not $50...or $100 - enough with this drop at a time stuff...HEAT UP THE COW!!!
The minimum wage is always zero. That’s the wage you get if your prospective employer can’t afford to hire you at the government mandated “minimum wage”.
Yep, all you have to do to defeat the idea of a higher minimum wage is to ask them why not increase it to an even higher amount , then when they agree to it, ask for twice or three or 10 times as much.
that will do wonders for inflation!
heck! throw in some communist price controls and raise taxes for the epic fail trifecta !
Minimum wage is a State matter...since the economies of every state is sooooo different.
I want it at 100 per hour. Then we can all upper middle class. See how easy that is.
Its necessary for mandated wages to inflate because of the inflation SloJoe and Kam generated. Maybe Kam isn’t smart enough to understand the problem.
Stay out of our pocketbooks...
“Interviewer asking if Harris has a number?”
That’s like asking a dog his favorite color.
Sure. Go ahead. And be sure to lock up anybody who hires illegals and pays less than that first.
JD Vance said it should be $20 already and going up to $50.
Minimum wage prohibits all work below the dollar figure.
“”What would you like to see it at?”””
Someone really said that?
The minimum wage has been a policy mistake since the 1930’s. It was supposed to help the young, inexperienced, often minority worker enter into the labor force. However, businesses, faced with a wage increase, are often forced to decrease their demand for labor. So, they look at their employees in terms of productivity and fire the least productive workers, who are young, inexperienced, often minority workers. Since 1938, there has never been a minimum wage increase where young, inexperienced, often minority, workers have not had an increase in unemployment.
There’s a ballot initiative here in MO to raise min wage to $25/hr by 2026 plus one hour paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. Works out to about 70 hours per year for a full time job. Nearly 9 days a year or nearly two work weeks.
We also have 5 amendments to vote on, mostly leftist stuff. “Reproductive health” is one of course.
Who knows how it will go. Cannabis legalization was done as an amendment and passed.
Who will go to fast food restaurants and pay even higher prices for the product? How many people will be laid off if they keep raising prices?
interviewer did
Some are actually bright enough to see the lesson there.
