Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!

Bible in a Year :
You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
In the worst UK residential fire since World War II, fire engulfed the twenty-four story Grenfell Tower building in West London, claiming the lives of seventy people. Investigations revealed a primary reason the flames spread so quickly was the cladding used as part of renovation that covered the building’s exterior. The material was aluminum on the outside but had an extremely flammable plastic core.
How was such a dangerous material allowed to be sold and installed? The product’s sellers failed to disclose poor fire safety test results. And buyers, drawn by the material’s cheap price tag, failed to heed warning signs. The shiny cladding looked nice on the outside.
Some of Jesus’ harshest words were directed at religious teachers He accused of covering corruption behind a nice-looking exterior. He said they were like “whitewashed tombs”—“beautiful on the outside” but inside full of dead bones (Matthew 23:27). Instead of pursuing “justice, mercy and faithfulness” (v. 23), they were focused on looking good—cleaning “the outside of the cup” but not the “greed and self-indulgence” inside (v. 25).
It’s easier to focus on looking good than to bring our sin and brokenness honestly before God. But a nice-looking exterior doesn’t make a corrupt heart any less dangerous. God invites us to let Him transform all of us from the inside (1 John 1:9).
Reflect & Pray
When have you tried to disguise corruption? How can you prioritize internal change?
Gracious God, please help me not to hide my brokenness but let You transform all of me.
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))

The doors have been open since Oct 7 2001,
the day of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
We are indebted to you for your sacrifices for our Freedom.

But nothing really happened over the weekend. I actually prefer weekdays where there's usually less people out and about so I can get my errands done quickly.
And our weather has turned cooler after a real nice & warm October but the cool feels good.
How are things going with you and the kittehs?
Good evening, radu...did you have a great voting day?
It’s been windy, and REALLY windy, all day today. And it looks like it is sprinkling now.
Howdy, Kathy.
I hope it isn’t a zoo day.
Crazy up there by the airports and I assume the rest of the city. It went from dead calm to VERY windy in the blink of an eye. It’s wild watching the ice on Lake Hood melt and the wind pushing areas of ice around the lake.
Just glad it isn’t here. LOL

Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Good evening, Pro....did you have an uneventful Monday?
So you did have a lazy weekend. Good. Best way to do weekends ...... unless you pick a Saturday for some shoot-’em-up fun. LOL
Seems like we’re flip-flopping with weather. You were cool for a while and we were roasting. Then you warmed up and we were wearing jackets. Now you’re cool again and we’re in t-shirts. Strange autumn this year.
Things are going well enough here. Just praying for much-needed rain.
Keeping busy the rest of the month with early voting. Nice to have something to do.
Had a couple of health issues with Lake and Jasper last week but they’re both doing well now. Everyone else is sassy as ever. LOL All is well with them and I hope it stays that way.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...hope you had a nice day. Getting chilly?
Nights are getting below freezing, but warming up in the daytime.
Good evening, jmacusa...today I finally have had no internet outages. They started Friday before quitting time and continued thru yesterday. Today is good, knock on wood.
Winter is coming. Hope you are enjoying fall.
Hey there, Kathy.
Yes, it was another busy, fun day with early voters - - for us anyway. The dems hardly have anyone stop by their tent (imagine that!) but we have a lot. Many are regulars who stop by to chat every time we’re set up. Then we have a lot of transplants who stop by with questions about the candidates that we answer as best we can. We have a great time with everyone.
It sure HAS been windy up there today. The cam is wiggling and I had to turn the speakers way down because the wind was so loud on the mic. The big spruce on the museum property is dancin’ a jig right now.
And it’s raining a decent clip. Maybe by now it’s moved over towards your neighborhood. Gotta say I’m jealous. LOL
Hiya Kathy, a good Monday my way, weather is really starting to cool off, which is welcome!
Good evening, Janey...((HUGS))...any idea where you will be ubering next?
