fter becoming the first presidential candidate in 40 years to miss the charity event put on by the Archdiocese of New York, the Democratic nominee tried to make up for her absence by sending in a pre-recorded “comedy” skit with former “Saturday Night Live” actress Molly Shannon. In the video, Shannon, 60, resurrected her schoolgirl alter ego Mary Katherine Gallagher to “interrupt” Harris’ formal dinner remarks and warn her not to make fun of Catholics. In one attempt at humor, Harris, 59, said that making fun of Catholics at the Al Smith Dinner would be like “criticizing Detroit in Detroit,” a reference to Republican nominee Donald Trump, 78, warning an audience at the Motor City’s Economic Club recently that the “whole country will end up being like Detroit” if the Democrat wins the election.
The video also lampooned the Church, with Shannon saying that the Al Smith Dinner was not as important as the Last Supper and warning that all the remarks would be fact-checked by Jesus. The $5,000-per-plate audience watched the video intently, but were left underwhelmed by Harris’ comedy stylings, with some looking visibly bored and confused.
Even the event’s emcee, genial comedian Jim Gaffigan, noted the response to the skit after it finished. “I don’t even know what that noise is,” he said before imitating the audience reaction: “Meeeeeeeh.” Gaffigan then joked the video showed him how his kids must have felt when he “FaceTimed into a piano recital.” The Harris video also irked some social media users who said the skit was both tone deaf and offensive to Catholics.

It was really weird, but Jim Gaffigan was pretty good, when he could read the prompter/remember his jokes.
I especially liked the one where he said shy Trump voters are a very small group, they’re called Biden.
I was stunned. How offensive was that to Catholics. Wow.
The first half was weird, childish, and stupid
The rest of her remarks were just slogans and pandering.
The Democrats thought that Joe Biden was the best that they could come up with. Then they decided that Kamala was the best that they could come up with.
Kamala was very sorry she couldn’t be there in person, but she was quite busy securing the border and negotiating peace deals around the world.
Keep digging Harris.
Now Molly Shannon can go beack to her successful, post-SNL career.
The Molly Shannon skit was not funny. She’s never been funny.
Offensive to catholics? No, it was offensive to everyone.
You do know that Gaffigan is a pretty hard lefty democrat, right?
Let’s hope messages like this from the left will wake up more Catholics and push them to vote Republican.
Being the worldly leftist social justice warriors that they are, I’m wouldn’t be surprised if the Vatican endorsed that little skit.
The rest of her remarks were just slogans and pandering.
I couldn't bring myself to watch it. The low-info cretins who support the idiotic Kamala, (rhymes with Pamela) elevate my blood pressure too much.
“You do know that Gaffigan is a pretty hard lefty democrat, right?”
Nope, didn’t know. And if you watched his act last night, you’d never imagine that was the case.
I’ve heard him spouting democrat talking points and saying really awful stuff about Trump. So, he’s on my S*** list.
” The Harris video also irked some social media users who said the skit was both tone deaf and offensive to Catholics.”
Some??
I hated that character when it was most popular. I never thought it was funny at all.
But that video was simply cringeworthy. Making jokes about Catholics, at a catholic dinner does not seem to be a good plan.
Democrats don’t care. Any religion that isn’t their climate change or death cult isn’t worth an ounce of respect.
you can get away with this kind of stuff when the election is fixed.
