FBI Faked Crime Drop by Leaving Out 1,699 Murders
FrontPage Magazine ^ | Oct 16 2024 | Daniel Greenfield

"1,699 murders, 7,780 rapes, 33,459 robberies, and 37,091 aggravated assaults".

The recurring joke was that under Obama and Biden, the economic projections always had to be revised downwards and under Trump, they had to be revised upwards.

Now the reverse is happening to crime statistics.

Democrats and their media have been hyping false claims that crime is down. Biden claimed that crime was at a 50-year low. I’ve dissected some of these false claims in the past, but a key point in the debate was that some of the FBI crime data was missing because the way data was reported had changed.

Now the full crime data for 2022 is in and it turns out that the FBI had missed 1,699 murders. But what’s over a thousand dead folks when the goal is to fake a crime drop?

When the FBI originally released the “final” crime data for 2022 in September 2023, it reported that the nation’s violent crime rate fell by 2.1%. This quickly became, and remains, a Democratic Party talking point to counter Donald Trump’s claims of soaring crime.

But the FBI has quietly revised those numbers, releasing new data that shows violent crime increased in 2022 by 4.5%. The new data includes thousands more murders, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults.

The unmentioned additions, at least unmentioned by the feds, add “1,699 murders, 7,780 rapes, 33,459 robberies, and 37,091 aggravated assaults”.

I won’t drag out the old chestnut ‘lies, damn lies and statistics’, but there are a thousand ways to lie with statistics and the easiest of those is just to leave select data out.

Considering that the nation’s crime centers are also hard core Dem strongholds, it becomes all too easy.

John R. Lott, a respected researcher who wrote the article, notes that “while the FBI claims that serious violent crime has fallen by 5.8% since Biden took office, the NCVS numbers show that total violent crime has risen by 55.4%. Rapes are up by 42%, robbery by 63%, and aggravated assault by 55% during Biden’s term. Since the NCVS started, the largest previous increase over three years was 27% in 2006, so the increase under Biden was slightly more than twice as large.”

This is much more in line with a lot of what people are experiencing. Crime is high. Everyone knows it except the ‘experts’ and ‘politicians’ who are responsible for the mess and whose job is to cover it up.

Just highlighting that this administration lies about everything if it thinks that it makes them look bad.

So why are taxpayers still paying for any of these "reports"?

This is what has happened to the FBI. The management of the FBI has been taken over treasonously as a political arm of the Democrat Party.

Those who have done this need to be held accountable.I’d say Mayorcas needs jail time. So do Garland, Clapper, Brennan,Wray and others. They have used tax payer funds to conduct espionage against their political opponents. And now they will have to pay the piper.

The FBIs auditor report due out in January 2025 will reveal that necessity.

Didn’t someone publicly slam Trump or Vance as liar for saying crime had skyrocketed under Bidet? The person quoted stats that showed crime had dropped - was it one of the mods on the debate?

These people need to be forced to make a public apology for their lies.

As I understand it, many areas of the country including large cities don’t report crime numbers to FIB anymore so no matter what the numbers are as accurate as a two week weather forecast

Isn’t it funny how all these mistakes, data that needs to be revised (on page D32), etc. always go one way?

This is a very old trick, not just from the FBI.

When Maryland governor Parris Glendenning was running against Ellen Sauerbrey in 1998 he had Joe Curran, his attorney general, withhold police reports to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report (UCR) system.

Maryland had been in the top ten most violent crime rated states for years - and years longer - under Glendenning, worsened by abolishing “Shall issue” concealed carry permits, but THAT year, he campaigned on lowering crime.

Only because PG and Baltimore’s data didn’t get into the UCR.

IF I recall correctly.

Sauerbrey actually won, but the cost of contesting the stolen election (early form of “ballot harvesting” and suddenly finding BAGS full of ballots needed to put Glendenning back into the Governor’s mansion all curiously marked “D” down ballot was too much to contend with so Sauerbrey conceded.

Same thing happened to Dan Bongino when he ran for office here. He lost by a point, but the word is, he was told they’d just keep “finding votes” and there was no chance he’d win.

The FBI is corrupt (tell us another one, Captain Obvious), and is just another tool created by progressives to lie, cheat, steal, manipulate data, imprison political enemies and otherwise guarantee Dementiacrats remain in power long after cities die and the treasury is emptied.

O’Bama’s “FBI” is worthless. They “decreased” crime by not doing their job anymore. They dedicated their “agency” to harassing, chasing and throwing Americans in jail.
