Donald Trump visited a black barber shop in the Bronx, NY prior to attending the Al Smith Dinner tonight and was applauded by all of the men in the establishment.
It is impossible to imagine another Republican candidate for president receiving this kind of treatment in this situation. It is difficult to imagine Kamala Harris even getting this warm reception from the crowd.
It’s just one more reminder that if Democrats are not worried about the black vote this year, they should be.
NBC News in New York reported the story, but left out any mention of the applause, naturally:
Trump visits Bronx barbershop before Al Smith dinner in Manhattan
Former President Donald Trump visited a barbershop in the Bronx Thursday ahead of his scheduled appearance at the noted Al Smith dinner in the city later in the evening.
A large security detail, including a huge tent, was seen being set up outside King of Knockouts barbershop in Castle Hill. Sharpshooters could be seen on the roof of the building.
While he did not get his hair done, Trump spoke with some customers as they were getting cuts and touch-ups, trying to maximize the modest inroads he has made with men of color during this election season. Video shared by the campaign showed him talking with employees and shop regulars, as well as the owner of the store and his father.

One man in the shop said that he is a Democrat but will be voting for Trump in November.

All of this leads to an inevitable question. Could New York really be in play for Trump this year?
No, but it’s trending red. Instead of a 20 plus point loss, Trump may cut it to 9 or 10.

I think both NY and California would be in play for Trump, IF they had secure and accurate elections.
This is fantastic!!! Horizontal harris would not get this reception.
I’ve believed for the longest time the two weeks before the election he should be campaigning in Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta and all the inner cities.

No but it can help in down ballot elections in state and federal elections. In the last governors race it was as below:
Percentage 53.12% 46.73% in favor of the democrat Cathy Hochul. If that election were held in the next presidential election this Nov. 3, Republican Lee Zeldin would have won. New York is reliable liberal. A 3.2 percent swing from Hochul to Zeldin would have elected Zeldin. In a reliably safe state for the Democrats that is a very frightening number.

When was the last time Harris went to the hood?
NO. But he could bring a bunch of house members across the finish line.
I live on Staten Island’s north shore, which is conserevative...mostly Americans of Italian descent.
Half a million of us.
But the other four boroughs have enormous numbers and are 6 to 1 democrat.
Trump closed the gap from 23 last time to 11 percent this time!!
Could it be as little as 8 or 9? Possibly.
And if that happens, he will DEFINITELY have brought some NY house members with him to Washington DC

This is what a local lady says near the end of the video:
“You would expect more security especially from all the attempts that were made during his campaign.”
That’s what a majority of Americans think, as well.
Why not? I lived in NYC when they voted for Republican Giuliani for two terms. It’s 4 or 5 to one Democrat. How did it happen?
The real key is the overall popular vote. Then you can put the liberal’s bitching about the electoral college crap to rest.
