Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz appeared to double down Thursday on his support for getting rid of the Electoral College — despite getting smacked down by the Harris campaign the first time he called for the radical constitutional change.
“Well, it’s not the campaign’s position, and the point that I’m trying to make is that there’s folks that feel like every vote must count in every state,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee told ABC News “Good Morning America” co-host Michael Strahan in an interview.
“And I think some of the folks feel that that’s not the case.”
During a campaign fundraiser Tuesday night, the 60-year-old had told attendees: “I think all of us know that the Electoral College needs to go” in favor of settling presidential elections by the national popular vote.
The Harris-Walz campaign quickly issued a statement later that night clarifying that Walz’s comment did not reflect its position.

If these leftists despise our system of government so much, they can just leave.
If he was serious about every vote counting, then the Electoral College should count the votes from each Congressional district, instead of by State. This would reduce the heavy thumb on the scales of elections by big cities. For example, there should be separate votes for each of the three districts in Nevada, so that Reno and Las Vegas don’t swamp the vote totals. Illinois is Cook County and East Saint Louis swamping the vote of the rest of the state. And so forth.
There have been past proposals along those lines in the past. Results from places like California for example would look very different.
Getting rid of the EC would give blue states another big incentive to bring in illegal aliens.
The Electoral College makes lazy communists have to work in a campaign. There are 50 separate state elections, plus DC.
A World Series loser doesn’t get to say that they outscored the other team overall; it’s each game that counts - even if they won one game 22-0.
That’s what communists hate.
I suspect they want to keep the electoral college in case it votes for dems in spite of a popular majority for Trump.
If they keep both going, then they can appeal to either one for the reason why they should take the presidency.

They want to ban ID for voters but want to kill the electoral college.

Walz... A total putz, but when you’re running for President you always need a VP candidate who doesn’t outshine you... That was difficult in Kamala’s case because pretty much everybody outshines her... They needed to dig pretty deep to find a total loser like Walz. The good news, he’s actually dragging the ticket downwards.
That’s the whole point of the ‘Interstate Compact’ where states award their Electoral Votes to the candidate who wins the national majority.
You can bet your house that if a dem loses the national popular vote but wins in the Electoral College, the dem state legislatures (the only ones who’ve joined the compact) will simply award their Electors to the democrat. And it can’t be challenged because the Constitution gives the state legislatures the final say.
You forgot GUAM AND PUERTO RICO!
Coach Knucklehead is looking at the numbers and The Electoral Votes and wants to ignore/end The Constitution.
Democrats would love to include them.
