The new California Assembly Select Committee on Happiness and Public Policy recently released its first report, which sought to discover which California county was the happiest.
The report, meant to guide legislators in crafting future laws, includes survey data from organizations, including the Public Policy Institute of California.
Researchers found Alpine County, one of the state’s least populous counties just south of Lake Tahoe, was the “happiest.”

I didn’t know there were so many Indians up there.
I’ve been to Lake Tahoe. I was happy.
So what?

Things felt mellowed out and nothing seemed to be stressful or important....

LOLOL...you guys crack me up!
If you crack up enough, you’ll never break...
I’m surprised that this is the happiest county. If you want to live there, you will have to like long, cold winters and the possibility of snow and below-freezing temperatures even in June, July and August.
Because the population is so small, there has been talk in the past of groups like libertarians, leftist factions and cults moving in and taking it over, but so far, nothing has come of it.
Was public money spent on this stupidity? Most likely. The pols’ nephews need jobs.
Lol. That would be hard work. You’ll never see libs there doing that.
Actually lot of Libs and ex hippys in Alpine County.
The happiest counties will never be part of California under a democratic regime. There is no such thing. Never.
With or without drups?
With or without drugs?
The happiest county in California is Klamath County, Oregon.
