COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — College football is on high alert for players flashing make-believe guns at an opponent. That happened Saturday when freshman edge rusher Dylan Stewart, who sacked Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart for a loss of eight yards on third down, stood over him and pretended to shoot his opponent with a repeating firearm. Stewart was called for unsportsmanlike conduct and South Carolina was penalized 15 yards.

How stupid.
I don’t care for any celebrations short of a TD or a game changing tackle.
But this “weapon display” won’t do a dare to stop violence nor promote good sportsmanship!
At Texas Tech, our slogan is “Guns Up “ and we point our “guns” at people. I don’t see that changing. Same with Oklahoma State. “Pistols Firing” is their slogan.
“...a repeating firearm...”
At least it wasn’t an Auto.
A Muzzle Loader would be funny.
The referees had us in the bulls eye!😊 Especially in the LSU game.
How can they prove it wasn’t a make believe Squirt gun though ?
:)
I guess it would be ok to mimic a sling shot, or a bow and arrow?
I bet they’d let the players imitate using forceps doing dilation and extraction (tearing a baby apart piece by piece):

Or pretend you are throwing a hand grenade?
Thugs
Nip it in the bud!!!!
Next, someone might gnaw a PopTart into a gun shape.
O the hugh manatee!
geez- about time they came out with some sensible finger/hand reforms- people’s lives are at stake!!! /s
I like the gang signs! 🤡
But in the Dylan Stewart case, he may have been imitating a Glock with a switch. s/??
Do the folks in Hereford follow the Gamecocks, the Rebs, or the Red Raiders?
They send their daughters to Tech.
They did when I was there.
That's West Virginia, isn't it? Florida state uses a spear. Texas A&M has a cannon.
Weapons gestures? WT actual H?
bunch of pansies.
