Did Iran conduct underground nuclear test on Saturday night? 'Measured' earthquake in region suggests…

An earthquake of moderate intensity occurred in Iran and Israel on Saturday night, October 5. Strangely enough, both the countries experienced the earthquake at a marginal difference in the timing. In such a situation, it is being speculated whether Iran has conducted its nuclear test.

The earthquake occurred in the Aradan city of Semnan province in Iran. Its intensity was 4.5 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake occurred at around 10:45 pm local time and its epicentre was at a depth of only 10 kilometers from the ground. The tremors were felt in Tehran which is 110 kilometers away from the epicenter of the earthquake, reports the US Geological Survey.

A few minutes later, an earthquake was reported from Israel. According to the report of the European Mediterranean Seismic Center (EMSC), this earthquake occurred around 12 o'clock but its intensity remained very low.

Given the intense state of conflict between Iran and Israel, people have started linking the earthquakes in these two countries with Iran's nuclear tests on social media. There have been speculations in many reports that it was not an earthquake rather Iran conducted underground nuclear tests due to which a shock was felt in both the countries.

Nuclear test or earthquake?

A report claimed that the earthquake in Iran occurred very close to the nuclear power plant, so it cannot be said whether the shock was due to an earthquake or a nuclear test.

Another report has claimed that the earthquake in Iran could be an underground nuclear test because its center was at a depth of only 10 km from the ground. In such a situation, the speculation about Iran's nuclear test has deepened.

Actually, the earthquakes in Iran and Israel occurred amidst the boiling tensions between the two Middle East countries.

If it’s similar to north Korea, then it’s a 20-50 kiloton

The frequency “signature” of an underground nuclear detonation is quite discernible to those with the correct equipment. Certainly, the Israelis have this capability. IF it was merely an earthquake, then it’s just an earthquake. But if it was actually an underground nuclear detonation, expect action from the Israelis against Iran in the near future. In truth, it will be difficult to discern, because Israel is going to engage with Iran anyway.

I thought I had heard that the seismographs and geologists can tell the difference between the two.

Israel should conduct an above-ground test in Iran, just to be sure.

The signature on the seismic device is similar to India, Pakistan, and north Korean tests.

10km deep. The deepest hole ever drilled was in the USSR at 12km and took years.

The US gov’t used to have a program, I think it was Sierra Uniform - seismic sensors in Oklahoma to detect nuclear tests around the world

There was Sierra Hotel - (High-ground I guess) - these were satellites with VELA packages that detected the double-flash of a fission-fusion weapon

This is how the VELA Incident of 1979 was discovered - had to look for the exact date - September 22

Sierra Uniform - (Underground? I guess) - the seismic sensors

There was a third - above ground but not in space - Sierra.....(forgot)

A VELA HOTEL bird (from way back) - I thought they were in geo-sync orbits but Wiki claims 73,000 miles (outside the Van Allen radiation belts - for comparison, the space shuttles only went about 150-500 miles up) - that Earth image was obviously added lol

The author should look at some reference sites and maps before writing articles, like the USGS event page, USGS event map, or google maps.

The earthquake was 10 km underground, a mile away from a major highway, with a dozen towns within ten miles. Iran has thousands of square miles of empty desert to carry out a nuclear test in relative secrecy.

This is fearmongering as a headline for clicks.

Israel seems to be practicing with deep penetration of bunkers used by terrorists.

I wonder if they’re using multiple penetrators.

But that would mean Biden-Harris policy is a failure so it’s not possible per the narrative.

Perhaps Iran intentionally placed it in a non-desert area to mislead?

Wiki map shows the dot but the dot is not on there when you copy the image (lat long I guess places the dot)

Would be a real shame if the blast set off tectonic plate movements under Iran and the whole place collapsed like the alien Selenites’ civilization in the movie of HG Wells First Men in the Moon. Like a house of cards.

USGS plugs in 10 kilometers when it doesn’t know the actual depth, iirc.
