I understand what you are saying, but that wasn’t my point...I just want people to understand that all the prep in the world won’t matter if God decides to drop a little humility into your life
Union is more concerned about their fat wallets than the welfare of American families and the nation’s economy.
Another reason to consider some of the disadvantages to globalization. It puts a tremendous amount of power into a few small groups such as the ILA. The ports are choke points in the entire supply chain.
I have to remember that God's ways are not our ways - some things just make me go "hmmm, now why would God allow this?"
"For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." 1 Cor. 13:12
They need to fired was the point.
Never underestimate Brandon’s ability to #### things up
“Ahh, the security of a well-stocked food pantry.“
Yeah I got that going for me too but my business depends upon my vehicles and machines being up and running and for the past three years it’s been hard to get parts in a timely manner. This strike is going to compound that. If my truck should need a fuel pump that I can’t get…
“The union members are largely MAGA”
Sorry, but... I don’t believe that for a NY second. Newsmax showed union dockworkers walking in a circle... all blacks... and none of them looked like they gave a tinker’s damn about America or about Americans. They were offered a 50% pay increase and yet that wasn’t enough?
No, this is about crippling and/or destroying the nation. They, the PTBs, are terrified that Trump will get back in office and this is just ‘one’ of their last ditch efforts to burn it all down, just in case. They couldn’t care less how much misery or death they cause.
There needs to be a reckoning. Soon.
T”he White House has engaged senior officials including Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su, and Director of the National Economic Council Lael Brainard since late last week in an effort to bring the ILA and USMX back to the bargaining table to negotiate a deal quickly.”
Well... that’s encouraging...
You’re not kidding. These morons were offered a 50% pay raise, higher contributions to their retirement funds, and a promise of no automation, but they walked anyway because they want an 80% raise! Some of those crane operators stand to make half a MIILION a year if they get the deal they want.
“Union is more concerned about their fat wallets than the welfare of American families and the nation’s economy.”
This will hurt the current administration more than Trump. Big hit. It’s a goodbye hug... but not to worry Pete Buttigieg is on it!
“The United States does not control operations at many of our major ports”
You are right in that local port authorities run the ports. I have found nothing in searches that China has controlling authority of any US ports. Yes they own stakes in many ports. In fact Congress forced the sale of the port of Long Beach CA after China bought it.
The government can stop this, but they won’t. They’ll force local taxpayers to foot the bill for these enormous concessions.
Biden will not invoke Taft-Hartley to get the longshoremen back to work. Not good news for the Harris/Walz campaign.
Watching the grain market now. Shoulda contracted before this strike. Biden should step in to cool things off. Maybe he knows something we don’t. how’s he gonna blame this on republicans?
usa self sufficient in grain?
Sent by Copilot:
Yes, the United States is largely self-sufficient in grain production. The country is one of the world’s top producers of key grains such as corn, wheat, and soybeans. In 2022, the U.S. ranked third in agricultural output, with corn and soybeans being among the top commodities1. This high level of production not only meets domestic demand but also allows the U.S. to be a major exporter of these grains.
80 percent of the ports are owned by foreign companies.
The ports themselves might be owned by local port authorities but, they are leased and terminal control is run by foreigners.
How’d do you all like that?
I would like the list of foriegn companies and I bet you can’t guess who the hell they support in this election.
Yup! I lost all my prepping during a flood. It was painful.
Need to export grains Glut of commodities lowers prices. This is gonna be a rough year. High input, lower prices
